Crosby is right there with Wine and Scotch...He get's BETTER with age.

I can still remember that kick in 2012 against the Colts to win the game. It was from 53 yards out and he hooked it SO BAD, I think it ended up going out of bounds at the goal line. It wasn't just that kick in 2012, it was whole bunch of kicks that weren't even remotely close. Crosby missed 12 FG's that year and was at 63.6% for the year. I was one of the BIGGEST "Fire Crosby" supporters. I thought he was finished.

BUT since Mike McCarthy was the HC and one of MM biggest qualities or flaws, depending which side of the fence you were on, was/is loyalty. Mike McCarthy is extremely loyal, most would say to a fault I think and he stuck with Crosby...Good move Mike.

Crosby is 52 of 54 since week 14 of 2018...He's missed TWO kicks! MLF was smart to keep Crosby when he got here and IMO Crosby should be here until he wants to retire of he can ride out with game winning SB kick and then call it a career. Either way, this ISN'T where Gute cuts costs next year with the cap. As long a s Crosby is kicking 50 yarders OUTDOORS, he should be here as long as he wants.

We've been on the other side where missing a FG losses a game and we've been there with Crosby. But there's not another kicker I'd want kicking a FG in January than Crosby to get to the dance.

It screams volumes of his mental makeup that he's made it this far and only seemed to become more reliable. If there's any position on a roster where the mind games can be a killer, it's K, and Crosby seems to have mastered that. He's become so automatic that I think when he finally misses a kick--and it's inevitable that he will--we'll be shocked.

I remember the Detroit game a few years ago when Crosby missed 5 kicks, and even then I just shrugged it off thinking "Who would you rather have"?
Throughout the years Crosby has been as good a bet as anyone that's played the position, and against the 49er's last week I knew it was over when it came time for the game winner. Kinda' obvious that Rodgers felt the same way with his fist pump.
HOF? Admittedly, I hadn't thought of it, but you're right, he certainly has a chance, and it'd be great to see.

One of the most underrated kickers in the NFL. When you look up clutch and consistency you get a picture of Mason Crosby. Keep in mind he kicks outdoors for at least half his games in Lambeau Field. Heck, I haven’t worried about having a kicker in years. Sure he had a horrific game in Detroit a few years ago. So what? It happens to the best of them. He will of course miss again in a big spot. Just goes with the territory. I wouldn’t trade him for any other kicker in the NFL. He’s our guy and I hope it stays that way.

Crosby has been so good for a long time.

The only concern I have with Crosby is getting one blocked. Which is not his fault. They have to get that leak on the right side of the OL fixed. It nearly cost us the game winning kick against the 49ers. It nearly cost us the kick before half time against the Steelers. If it wasn't for an offsides penalty it would have been a complete game changer.

There is no one that I would prefer kicking FGs of any distance at Lambeau in December and January when the ball is a rock from the cold and the winds are swirling about. Many of the other HOF kickers have been indoor kickers or have kicked in friendlier climates than Green Bay.

Crosby will make the Packer HOF but just about anyone who wears a Packers uniform achieves that so Duh. Making the NFL HOF is what matters and Crosby is well on his way IMO. For now I'll be happy for another solid year from him and worry about his HOF chances when he retires, hopefully never. Go Crosby Go!

I like Crosby as much as anyone else, but I think it's a little ridiculous to say that he's on the door step of being a HOFer. There are only 2 full-time kickers in the HOF right now (George Blanda who the author mentioned also played QB!). One played primarily in the 70s, so isn't a good comparison to Mason, the other is Morten Anderson who has almost 1000 more points over his career then Mason. So unless he plays at a high level for at least another 6-7 seasons, he's not going to come close to those numbers. The 2 kickers still playing who look to be surefire HOFers have other major accomplishments that make them stand out, something Mason doesn't have.

Crosby is a great kicker and is probably the best Packer kicker of all time, but fans always tend to overexaggerate their own players when comparing them to the rest of the league, both currently and historically. Fact is, Crosby still has a long way to go to even be considered as a HOF candidate.

I too was doubting him a few years back. But I will say this - right now he is MONEY. But I wonder might the team want to just try to save his leg a little because when the weather cools down do we need him on the field during kickoffs. Might Cory be able to kick off? Dont know - but given our kick return special teams - I dont want to see him making tackles and I really would rather have for sure touch backs. Some teams including the Raiders really have great kickoff returners.

I love Mason but to say that he is a HOF is crazy... He has been good but not nearly good enough to make it to the HOF... Not crazy accurate, never kicked a 60yd FG, not enough game winners. Great kicker, he kicks for as long as he wants to and is successful but unless he is 50 kicking FG I don't see it happening...

There is no need to fear, Mason Crosby is here! Mason has come up with some big kicks and big TD saving tackles in his Packer career. He is easily one of my favorite and respected Packer player, GMG!

There are only four kickers in the Pro HOF, and all of them have been selected All-Pro or to the Pro Bowl multiple times. Crosby hasn't been selected for any of these honors, unfortunately, or maybe unfairly. Right now Tucker is dominant kicker of the recent past, having been selected to the HOF team of the last decade. Voters like those kind of things.

If it were up to me, Crosby would be a shoo in for his reliability, longevity, and ability to make clutch kicks. But the bar has been set very high for kickers and punters. For what it's worth, I've always felt that all of the the pro sports HOFs should be more inclusive than they currently are.

Too bad that he like Many others on the current mix are likely cap casualties in 22/23.

To be a HOF kicker you have to be the best of your era and set a standard. Sorry but Crosby hasn't done that. Tucker is the HOF kicker of this era. Look at his 4th quarter and game winning stats for kicks. Look at his 66 yarder. They aren't putting in multiple kickers and does Crosby even have a post season moment? You usually need multiple of them to make it.

Can we come up with better stories than just cheerleading?

I didn't want to be the bad guy (others beat me to it - thanks), and I don't want to take anything away from Crosby. Terrific kicker, classy guy.

Of the HOF placekickers, as pointed out, Blanda was also a QB, and had freakish longevity. Other HOF kickers are Jan Stenerud and Morten Andersen. There was also Lou Groza, but he was also a lineman. Again, Crosby is quite good, but it's not a well-represented position in Canton, and he would be behind several kickers, such as Vinattieri and Tucker, for starters.

All in all, I'm very happy that Mason is the Pack's kicker, but HOF is an extreme longshot.
