Former Packer Dave Robinson Disagrees with Bill Belichick

In a video posted on tmzsports.com, Packer Hall of Famer, Dave Robinson tells Bill Belichick that Bill is no Vince Lombardi.

Earlier this week, Packers fans favorite announcer, Troy Aikman speculated that the Lombardi trophy should be renamed for Belichick. At least we have Dave Robinson on our side.

That would never happen. At least I hope not in my lifetime.

It'll never happen. If for no other reason, the NFL is not about throwing away its history. Lombardi, Halas, Hunt, Shula, Davis, Madden, Walsh, etc... these are NFL royalty.

The NHL would never rename the Stanley Cup the Gretzky cup, would it? Neither would the NFL rename the Lombardi trophy.

I hope it never happens, it should never happen, but I wouldn't put anything past this commissioner.

Gooddell has presided over the Spy Gate and Deflate Gate scandals with New England. It's nonsense to speculate this trash.

Not that I feel he does, but this just gives more fuel for the fire to the Aikman hates the Packers crowd.

It's good to see that after all these years Dave Robinson is still making us proud. Comparing Lombardi with Belichek is like comparing hyperion to a satyr, to paraphrase Hamlet. Lombardi the epitome of integrity and excellence compared with the king of cheating and hoodies. I put nothing past the NFL any longer however if they ever replaced the Lombardi trophy with the Belichicken trophy that would be the final nail in the coffin for me with the NFL. I would no longer follow the league in any way shape or form. They could keep their mamby-pamby football and their rapidly deteriorating product and their money grabs and greedy owners. Except for the Packers games I don't pay much attention to the league any longer at this point anyway. They would probably replace Belichek with another successful coach in another 50 years and call it the revolving coach trophy. Hope it doesn't happen but it would be pitiful if it did. As for Aikman, he makes us yearn for the John Madden days of football broadcasting. Thanks, Since '61

I may give you that Belichick is likely the best tactician and will likely never have his Super Bowl wins surpassed, but NO ONE could motivate players like Lombardi did in the 1960's.

His teams won the first two "Super Bowls" and the trophy is appropriately named.

The Lombardi trophy goes to the winner of the Super Bowl. Lombardi obviously never lost one whereas Belichick has lost two.

Dave Robinson understands that and so should the Commissioner.

The name of the trophy won't be changed.
