I'm loving this series with Tazim - sincere thanks for the insights.

A question for a future episode: When a player is working through a contract with their agent, and they are looking at other contracts issued to similarly positioned players, do they ever look at a "generously negotiated" offer and think "there is no way that the team will honor this contract in full". How do you navigate being offered an exorbitant contract, that taking a money-ball approach, will clearly exceed productivity.

Bonus question: At what point do you also think that in agreeing to such an exorbitant contract, that in the salary cap environment is DEFINITELY going to cost others their position - and ultimately weaken the team (or reduce it to the chance of being able to restock in the draft) - do you agree to a contract that (likely) won't be honored........ and for reference, I'm talking about those contracts that pay a RB $17M per season and a LT $40M........ do you just accept that it's a decision for another day, and we will discuss it on that day (with the benefit of knowing the variables available on that day)?

At what point here does the agent accept some accountability for a bad contract? Was the Aaron Jones situation more of an FU to Drew Rosenhaus for his part than on AJ?

Thanks

Zero comments last week, one comment so far this week. My comment (# 2)…. Underwhelming.

I found the commentary on Nixon to be really interesting. I was scratching my head at the $6 million a year contract for Nixon as he just wasn't that good of a slot corner. However Wajed made the point Hafley may see different uses for Nixon such as more of a blitzing corner than just a slot corner. Nagler also raised the point ColdWorld has made - the proposed change in kick off rules could turn Nixon into a weapon on special teams. Nixon's contract makes more sense in light of those comments.

I appreciate then insight offered by this podcast - good work guys!

Aaron, I loved this conversation with Mr. Wajed. Great insights. Only scratching the surface of what he knows, imo. One of the reasons I loved his kid Christian Watson as a draft prospect. Dad taught him well. I had him as a 1st rounder. Didn't happen, but really just two picks off. So what. I pray his hammie problems are resolved. Him healthy will be an offensive explosion for this offense. Along with the signing of a revitalized Josh Jacobs, this offense is going to be tough to handle.
