Packers Calendar: Looking for Shields, Jolly Sightings at Minicamp

The start of the Green Bay Packers' mandatory three-day minicamp begins on Tuesday.

With practice scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. local time at Clark Hinkle Field, the weather forecast in Green Bay isn't exactly looking promising.

Practice is open to the public and the media, unless weather forces the session indoors like last week when the Packers went inside the Don Hutson Center. The forecast calls for a high of 62 degrees with a 50 percent chance of showers. The best chance of rain doesn't come until the evening hours, however.

For those that will be taking in minicamp, there's a possibility they'll see two players previously absent from the team's offseason program up until this point.

Now that cornerback Sam Shields has signed his one-year tender with the Packers, he is contractually obligated to attend minicamp.

Defensive lineman Johnny Jolly also tweeted on Monday that he'll be at practice. Jolly has missed the first two weeks of Organized Team Activities as he attended to his legal obligations that included a court-mandated drug rehabilitation program.

Whether either Shields or Jolly will actually take part in practice on Tuesday remains to be seen. Both of them presumably need to pass physicals, and even if they've cleared that hurdle, the coaching staff may choose to ease them back into action after missing so much practice time.

After practice, head coach Mike McCarthy will address reporters in a press conference scheduled for approximately 1:35 p.m., which will be broadcasted live on the team's official website.

Later in the day, a job fair is being held 855 Lombardi Ave., the former Packers Hall of Fame building from 3 to 6 p.m. as the Packers are looking for additional game day staff.

The Packers are looking for ushers, parking attendants, text message staff, and field cleaning supervisors. All interested applicants must be 18 years of age.

Then from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. at Legends of the Field in Greenfield, Wis., former Packers player Jerry Kramer will be signing autographs.

Tickets are required for the event and can be purchased online at LegendsoftheField.com or in person at 4162 S 108th St. in Greenfield.
