Packers Calendar: Ted Thompson to Address Jerel Worthy Trade

The Packers general manager will hold a press conference at 10:45 a.m. CT.

The man ultimately responsible for alternately bringing Jerel Worthy to Green Bay and then sending him to New England will face the media on Wednesday and likely be asked to justify both decisions.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson has a press conference at 10:45 a.m. CT to be streamed online at Packers.com.

It's possible Thompson will be able to confirm some of the details of the trade, which will reportedly bring the Packers a conditional seventh round draft choice.

Furthermore, Thompson will have to re-live his decision to make Worthy a second round draft choice in 2012.

Not only has Worthy not lived up to the expectations of a high round draft choice, he's part of a draft class in 2012 that has done little to help the Packers outside of Mike Daniels and Casey Hayward.

Linebacker Nick Perry—a former first round draft choice—will also likely enter the conversation as one player who might be able to redeem the draft class if he can get healthy and finally make an impact three years into his professional career.

Thompson's press conference will take place about an hour before the Packers hold their final training camp practice of the week open to the public at 11:45 a.m. on Ray Nitschke Field.

The Packers will prepare for Saturday afternoon's preseason game against the St. Louis Rams, the first practice of the post-Worthy era.

Tuesday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low seventies and no chance of precipitation, according to The Weather Channel.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will hold his own post-practice press conference at approximately 2:30 p.m. CT, also at Packers.com.

Right here at Cheesehead TV, Nathan Jahnke of ProFootballFocus.com will join us for his weekly Wednesday engagement on Railbird Central for a fourth consecutive season. The show airs live at 8:30 a.m. CT on our homepage and podcasted later in the day.
