Comparisons to Packers Super Bowl XLV Team Come up Short

The 2015 Version of the Green Bay Packers has been favorably compared by some to  the 2010 – 2011 Super Bowl Champions. There are in fact many positive similarities this season but the differences are striking as well.

The 2015 Version of the Green Bay Packers has been favorably compared by some to the 2010 – 2011 Super Bowl Champions. There are in fact many positive similarities.  Although the final chapter has yet to be written on the 2015 season the differences are striking as well.

The 92nd version of the Green Bay Packers started 2010 strong with two convincing victories.  The first against a playoff bound Eagles team (10 – 6 NFC East Champion) and the second against league weakling The Buffalo Bills (4 – 12).  They would go on to lose three of their next 4 (two in overtime) before running off four straight victories.  After 12 games their record stood at 8 – 4.

The 2010 group split the final four games finishing with a respectable 10–6 record but good for only a second-place finish in the NFC North to the arch-rival Chicago Bears.   Remarkably that Packers team never lost a game by more than four points, and never trailed by more than seven the entire season, becoming the only team since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 to accomplish this feat. Their six season losses were by a combined total of only 20-points.

The Packers were the sixth-seeded team in 2010 guaranteeing that they would not play a home game throughout the playoffs.  They went on to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears on the road to earn a trip to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLV.  There they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31 – 25 to bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The win was historic in that the Packers became only the second overall team (2005 Pittsburgh Steelers) and the first NFC team, to win the Super Bowl as a sixth seed.  In addition they become the second NFC team to win three straight road playoff games (2007 New York Giants).

Despite their so-so record the 2010 Packers offense ranked ninth in average YPG, tenth in total points scored and fifth best in passing yards.

The defense ranked fifth in yards allowed and finished second in least amount of points allowed (240, second best in team history), sacks (47), and interceptions (24).

Fast forward to 2015.   The 97th version of the Green Bay Packers currently stand with an identical 8 – 4 record, thus giving impetus to those who wish to favorably compare the two squads.  There the similarities take a fork in the road.

The current team started with a sterling 6 – 0 record although there were abundant warning signs that the team was struggling.  Mediocre offensive performances against the Bears and San Diego Chargers were particularly troubling.  Their defense showed similar troubling deficiencies.  There were the embarrassments of Matt Forte roughing up the run defense for 141- rushing yards and Charger QB Phillip Rivers setting franchise records for completions (43), attempts (65) and passing yards (503).

They have trailed by as many as 20 points and lost by a total of 33 points, although 19 of those came in the loss in Denver.  Their three losses were by 8, 2 and 4.  It could be argued that they were only 8 points shy of a 10 – 2 record.

After the Bears win head coach Mike McCarthy was prophetic when he was quoted as saying “This is our starting point. This is who we are as a team today.  A lot of good things to go off of, a lot of things we can learn from."

It certainly was who they were as a team and the learning part that McCarthy mentioned would become a recurring theme as the season progressed.

The current Packers offense ranks 22nd in total yards (341.4 average YPG), 12th in total points and 23rd in average passing yards (228.0 YPG).  Only the total points scored compares favorably to 2010.

As for the current defense they are ranked 19th in yards allowed, 6th in total points (238 through 12 games), tied for 7th in sacks with 33 and tied for 11th in interceptions with eleven.

With four games remaining on the schedule it is difficult to gauge where McCarthy’s squad is headed after what might have been a season-saving walk-off win in Detroit.  A carbon-copy 10 – 6 record is not out of the question.  They could of course win-out and have a chance for the number two playoff seed or work themselves right out of playoff consideration altogether with four crushing losses.  The reality is that they will probably fall somewhere between the two.

The next challenge for the Packers is a wounded but scrappy – and still in contention for the NFC East Championship – Dallas Cowboys team.

It remains to be seen if there is a positive carryover from Detroit or will success be followed by a third-straight sour Lambeau Field performance?

The more important question may be simply this:  Is this a Packers team which is ascending or descending?

If they hope to duplicate the feats of the 2010 club they will have to start this week at home. Time is running out for a turn-around and a strong ending to 2015 which could jump-start their Super Bowl playoff run.  For the Packers the time is now.

Good stuff Jeff. Thanks.

My .02 is that the 2015 team can run the ball better than the 2010 team did, but is simply not consistent enough. So the running game is about the same. The 2010 team had MUCH better WR options. TE is about the same (sadly). This teams OL is much better and I'd argue QB play is better too.

The 2015 team and 2010 teams are about the same stopping the run. The 2010 team was MUCH better at getting turnovers and stopping the pass.

The 2015 team is much better on Special Teams, except at punting.

So really, the main difference is pass rating differential. IF the secondary/pass rush can take it up a notch (quite possible) and IF the WRs/TEs and Eddie can take it up a notch (less likely), THEN this team instantly becomes VERY dangerous. If not, it'll be a 1-1 or 0-1 record in the playoffs again. I very highly doubt they're any less than 9-7, and thus will at the very least make the playoffs. My personal guess based on the evidence right now is 11-5 or 10-6. NFCN Champs. Lose in the divisional round to the Cards. But like Jeff said, there's time to change that.

Well written Jeff. Stats and records will be good when they come to do the audit on this season. Aside from the surprising stout play of our defense the 2015 Packers have not been impressive. It is like the league figured out what we do and basically took it away. BUT, the last quarter of football in Detroit showed that we have enough lightning to be dangerous.

If our coaches and players adjust a bit to the game plans being used against them, Aaron Rodgers should be able to guide the offense to the top. Specifically, if we can beat the press man coverage, like Richard Rodgers did then the field should open up. We have enough horsepower to be the hot team coming into the playoffs.

Our game against Dallas will tell us if this team has what it takes to make the run.

I have a feeling this is a team that needed to mature as the season progressed. The Packers have faced their share of injuries and adversity. I predict the Hail Mary game will be known as the spark that started their playoff march. Here are the headlines I foresee in the coming weeks of the regular season, after a much needed mini-bye.

*Rogers passer rating + 100, 4 strait games

*The Big Eddie train is rolling once again, punishes opposing defenses!

*Montgomery & Quarless add needed juice to receiving corps.

*The Offensive line humming along as playoffs near

*With Jake Ryan settled in at inside linebacker, the Clay-maker is once again terrorizing enemy quarterback's

*Packers young secondary is feasting on a bevy turnovers

*Packers to host playoff game at Lambeau

Yes, this will be a fun stretch for the Packers and their fans.

Happy Holidays;

NostraDANus

you think this is good stuff? It may taste good, but it's not nutritious. This Packer team lost its soul when it gave the Seahawks the NFC Championship. The Rodgers-Rodgers Moonshot was good stuff. Hopefully that shot will carry over to Pack vs Cowboys. The Pack has had 10 months to clear up the little things and get back to fundamentals.

Thank you for fast and well rounded review and comparison. It is really intriguing when you look deeper.

Nevertheless, I think that I tend to the people who thinks that Hail Mary throw was starting point of Packers return to better playing time. It was ingnition who light the fire inder the pot which will become hotter and hotter every week till the end. I do not expect easy win over Dallas, but it should be confortable one... Dallas has good D and we might see still some problems with our offense.

What is interesting is that most of the people will pick Arizona as the best team in NFC, but Viking provided one interesting insight to the grade. If you remove running game from Arizona, Palmer becomes more vunerable toward pass rush, and I saw just average OL in front of him. I think Packers may win in Arizona!

Said that, I think story is not yet over, because I'm affraid of another game - game in Oakland. Raiders are the most unpredicted team of the whole season. I just hope that they will not turn of that fire which is burning under the Packers at this moment!

Some interesting stats about this years team.

Before the Packers Bye week, they were averaging 11 points in the 1st quarter, 3.1 points in the 2nd, 6.8 points in the 3rd, and 6.3 points in the 4th. While their opponents have averaged 1.5 points in the 1st, 6.2 in the 2nd, 5.2 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th.

After the Bye week they have averaged 3.8 points in the 1st quarter, 3.8 points in the 2nd, 4.5 points in the 3rd, and 8.7 points in the 4th. While their opponents have averaged 5.5 points in the 1st, 8.5 in the 2nd, 4.8 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th.

For the whole year they have average 7.4 points in the 1st quarter, 3.5 in the 2nd, 5.7 in the 3rd and 7.5 in the 4th. While their opponents have averaged 3.5 points in the 1st, 7.3 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th.

By quarter for the whole year the Packers have scored 89 points in the 1st, 42 in the 2nd, 68 in the 3rd and 90 in the 4th.
Their opponents have scored 42 in the 1st, 88 in the 2nd, 60 in the 3rd, and 48 in the 4th.

What this tells me is prior to the bye week, they dominated the first quarter. Were not very good in the 2nd, came back pretty strong in the 3rd and 4th quarters. After the bye they have really struggled in the 1st and 2nd quarters. Got a little better in the 3rd and have really done well in the 4th quarter.

Looking at the point differences per quarter is really telling. Scoring 90 points in the 4th, 89 in the 1st, 68 in the 3rd, and 42 in the 2nd shows that 2nd quarter has been bad all year.

What all this tells me is that their 2nd quarter has been a problem all year for this team. Offensively it appears that the opposing defenses adjusted to what the Packers were doing offensively, and the opposing offenses adjusted to what the Packers were doing defensively. Then it would appear that at half time the Packers made adjustments.

The one good really thing about this years team is they have been very good in the 4th quarter almost all season long. They have been able to score points, and make some come backs.
If they can get back to coming out stronger in the 1st quarter like they did prior to the bye week and level out their play more in the 2nd quarter we will start seeing the team do what we expect them to do.

That is good stuff, RC. Personally I think health is the biggest missing component on offense: the health of the OL and WRs.

Yeah, I agree completely...
They have to get healthy. Lets just say it. They were lucky to have a victory in Detroit. They started the game with 2 missing OL, and lost their starting Center during the game, and for a play lost their LT. The OL has to get healthy.

The way its been sounding Montgomery has been practicing all week and could possibly play Sunday. If he can play he could provide a boost to our offense.

those 4th quarter points mostly reflect how far behind they were and how soft the other team was playing D in junk time. it says nothing about the ability of the coaching staff to adjust. the fact is is our coaches have yet to do much to figure out how to beat press coverage on our fairly slow receivers. and that Davante Adams is something of a disaster: cannot get open and when he does he drops the ball, and still does not read the D to understand when a back shoulder throw is coming.

'those 4th quarter points mostly reflect how far behind they were and how soft the other team was playing D in junk time.'
You might be able to try and make that argument for the Carolina game. But that game alone.
They were leading going into the 4th quarter in 6 of their 12 games. In the 6 games they weren't leading going into the 4th quarter, they were down 16-17 against Seattle. 10-24 against Denver, 14-30 against Carolina, 3-9 against the Lions, 13-17 against the Bears, and 14-20 against the Lions.

I think the difference has been Rodgers has been in complete control of the offense. They are focused more, with more urgency.

To me that is a great sign moving forward. They are able to score points in the quarter that matters most. They just need to get going faster in games. Which I think they will do.

We shall see. Does not feel like 2010 at all. We were always in every game that year. This year is totally different in that none of us know what to expect week to week. With that said I feel that we turned a corner in Detroit and now that a lot of people and teams do not fear or respect us anymore, we will somehow end up proving them wrong. Let's start with Dallas Go Pack GO

In spite of everything this team is a missed FG and a dropped TD pass away from being 10-2. They were beaten by Denver and Carolina on the road and they beat themselves at home against Detroit and Chicago. The overall issue for this team has been a lack of consistency on offense for most of the season. The defense has been good except for the losses at Denver and Carolina. With Q and Ty hopefully both returning soon some speed and new looks can be injected into the passing game. With the OL, except for Linsley, returning to health we should gain some consistency in the run game and better pass protection. The remaining question is Lacy. Can he return to form at least enough to make play action effective for the passing game? Can Crockett continue to evolve into a serious threat as the change of pace back? Given the forecast of rain for Sunday we may get some answers about the running game pretty soon. If the Packers OL and ground game gets going this team still has a chance to get hot and make a serious playoff run, as long as the defense maintains its level of play. In close December and playoff games Aaron Rodgers should be our difference maker but only if we get some consistency out of our running game. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

Since 2010, the Packers have had a top ten scoring offense. This year they’re currently ranked 12th. And since 2010, it has been the defense not playing up to the level we needed to make another serious run at a Lombardi Trophy.

This year it has been just the opposite. Our defense (for the most part) has kept us in every game except for Denver and Carolina and it has been the offense that has disappointed. Before this season started, I did not read one analyst who saw this poor performance coming from the offense. Especially when every starter on offense this year except for James Jones was returning and James Jones was only one year removed from being a Packers starter.

Now as bad as this may sound and as bad as the offense has looked this year, I believe it’s still possible for the offense to shake off this funk they’re in and build momentum with these next four games and get us to another Super Bowl. But that turnaround must start now as Jeff stated.

We know Aaron Rodgers can play much better. We know Cobb can play much better. We know Lacy can play much better. We’ve even seen Davante Adams play better. And after last week, maybe Richard Rodgers is now ready to take the next step.

I don’t know if it has been a lack of coaching or a lack of locker room leadership that has let us down, but as long as our defense continues to play well I believe we have the offensive talent on this team to make something special happen.

I’m looking forward to this Sunday to see how this team responds to their miraculous win against Detroit. If we can beat Dallas and show some offensive life, I thought Arizona looked beatable against the Vikings. I believe it’s entirely possible we could win these next seven games and bring another Lombardi Trophy back to “Titletown.” But all that starts this Sunday.

I agree, and I would add that Bulaga and Bakh can both play much better than they have played. Indeed, Sitton and Linsley both can improve their play. I attribute their subpar play (Sitton, Bulaga, and Bakh) to injury. As another poster wrote, I expect 3 to 5 of our OL to have surgery when this season is over. I'd put the over/under at 4.

This team does not compare on offense to any recent Packer teams. Last season the Packers scored at record pace - in Lambeau they scored an average of just under 40 points per game. They have not reached that total once this year.

The success of this team will be judged in the playoffs and there is still time to get it together for a run, but so far this team has been way below expectations.

During the offseason, just a few months ago, the entire NFL was marveling at the fact that the Packers had signed and under contract every single offensive starter from the 2014 season.

The Packers were stacked on offense, they said. Rife with talent.

TT definitely HAS surrounded Rodgers with weapons. Right now, we definitely need a dynamic TE, I'd agree with that. However, despite our offensive production woes, I still feel pretty damn good about this offense.

Rodgers/Tolzein/HUndley, Jordy/Cobb/Adams/Montgomery/Abby/Janis (Jones), Lacy/Starks/Crockett/Kuhn/Ripkowski, Quarless/Rodgers/Backman/Perillo, Bakhtiari/Sitton/Linsley/Lang/Bulaga.

You are always looking to upgrade your roster, but there's zero in that lineup that would cause a GM to fret about not stocking the cupboards. That's a damn fine group of men to build around your QB, IMO.

You can't have all-pros at every position.

I don't understand the point of your question, so I don't know exactly what kind of answer you're looking for.

I guess I would say, "Yeah, the NFL is a tough league to play in."

I don't know where people have developed this concept that getting to the super bowl is a given. Actually, I guess I do know, it's because of the crazy success of two or three teams, namely the Patriots.

"I don't understand the point of your question"

My point is that the Packers have maybe the best NFL player ever and they can't parlay that into Championships. That falls on Ted and Mikes back. They need to get their shit together.

They have given Rodgers...
the 27th RB
as well as the 36th and 44th WR's to play with.

That is fucking awful.

Football is a team sport, and even having a great football player is no guarantee of championships, something that an alarming number of fans have lost sight of.

John Elway went his entire career up to the very end before getting one. Marino, none. Reggie White only has one.

There's a comprehensive list of amazing players than never won a title, and it's not usually because they played for awfully managed teams. It's because it's freaking hard to get to, and win, a superbowl.

BTW, why are you only encapsulating this season for your offensive weapons rankings? If you're talking about organizational shortcomings, shouldn't you be looking at how those WRs and RBs have performed over the last many years?

To me there's two things. First get everyone as healthy as can be. The other is, in the Lions game I could swear I saw MM holding highlighted play sheets. I think he was calling plays at the end. He needs to be calling the plays from here on (except maybe red zone plays where he sucks). Tom Clements had this same setup as OC and play calling when he was at Buffalo. It didn't work then either. It was a major failure. We have basically the same offense as last year that led the league in points scored. The only thing different is the play calling. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Jordy's injury is clearly a big blow to the offense, but there is far more to this slump than just the loss of Jordy Nelson.

This offense has gone without Jordy for stretches before, and it was never anywhere close to this kind of an impact.

Cobb's injury, Montgomery's injury, Adams' poor play, A. Rodgers' not playing up to his highly set bar, Lacy's injury and subsequent streaky play, and potentially a problem with play calling have all seemingly combined with the loss of Jordy to make for very poor offensive productionfor much of the season.

O line injuries the last couple weeks definitely factor in, but I personally think reports of poor OL play have been greatly exaggerated. Linsley definitely struggled for a few games, but otherwise, I think a lot of sacks and pressures were not a result of poor OL play, but rather, a QB holding onto the ball far too long (for whatever reason), and much of the poor ground production came from lack of commitment to calling the run, as well as streaky performance by Lacy.

Just my take.

This year's offense is not close to the same as last year's.
1. No Jordy Nelson for any games this season.
2. OL has had numerous injuries this season while in 2014 only Bulaga missed 3 games early in the season.
3. Lacy has been hurt or MIA for major parts of the season so far.
4. Quarless has been hurt for most of the season and R. Rodgers was virtually invisible until this latest Lion's game
5. A. Rodgers has played through shoulder and leg injuries that we know of.
6. Abbrederis and Janis have yet to make any significant contributions in their back up roles.
To say that we have basically the same offense as last year except for the play calling is a failure to pay attention. If anything part of the problem has been trying to run the offense similar to last year's without the same personnel as I mentioned in points 1-6. Hopefully the return of Q and Ty will get this offense somewhat closer to last year's but it really depends on the health of the OL which was not an issue last season. Thanks, Since '61

After watching the Cards last night and seeing how flat they were against the Vikings who were missing some defensive starters and also how they allowed a poor offense to march down the field several times I think the Packers playing mistake free ball can beat them so it is possible to win out but we will see how they answer the call Sunday , if they beat the Cowboys with a impressive game then it's possible.

I agree. IF our packers can score readily against that defense in what is sure to be miserable weather conditions, I think they will win out.

Here is a link to a great analysis that tries to answer the question about what's wrong with the Packer offense. One thing it shows: they are facing better defenses this year. It would interesting to see the quality of the opponents from 2010. When we look at point differential, offensive and defensive performance, I think the 2009 may have been the best team in Mike McCarthy era. As all know, the best team doesn't always win in the playoffs.

The 2009 team's defense was awful and gave up 40+ points to the Cards in the playoffs. Hard to say that was McCarthy's best team

They gave up a total of 290 points for the season. The only Packer defense that has been better is the 2010 team. Woodson was the defensive player of the year. They did get lit up in the playoffs and by Pittsburgh that year but most teams have bad games now and then. Also, if you check Football Outsiders you will see that they were tied for NFL best in team efficiency rating. Only their special teams were terrible. In 2009, per Football Outsiders, only the New York Jets had a better rated defense.

This team "feels" nothing like 2010 to me. After the '09 playoff loss to Arizona, I was convinced we would hoist the Lombardi within a couple years. 2010, when we came out and handled Philly at their house in the opener... I just felt like we could compete and beat anybody, we lost 6 times, but there wasn't more than a few plays here or there that separated 10-6 from 16-0 (truth). This year, I kinda feel like we could get our asses kicked by a handful of teams. We're not playing with any passion, nobody wants to make a play (Hail Mary excluded). Maybe we're fat and happy, maybe this is just a down year, but I sure as hell don't see it ending like 2010.

I've tried to No Avail, to get some of you to look at these games from the betting angle. I give up. No one here is interested in the influence Gambling has on the outcome of NFL Football games. I've pointed out to all of you that over the last 6 GB games the money was ALWAYS on the losing team. Why doesn't that resonate with any of you.

I haven't done much football betting this year. I don't need to bet, & it's no fun for me anymore. I thought maybe some of you would take an interest, but you play right into the NFL's hands. There is No Gambling on Pro Football.

Wake Up!! They've gotten away with this Masquerade for years. Whether you believe it or not, Gambling is controlling the outcome's of most NFL games. I don't care if you accept it or not.

As a Better, I'm always looking for the edge. For me, it was always making an Educated Guess as to which side was getting the majority of money bet, & then going the opposite way. That strategy has won me 70% of my bets. That's as good as any Handicapper in the country.

I bet I have something that would interest a lot of you. Since I moved here permanently in June, I thought I'd look for an Edge on the Slots. You're laughing right? The slots are all Random, there's a Random Generator in all the machines. It's just luck when you hit. You're in the right place at the right time, Right?? Wrong!!

There is more to Slots than just being random. I think I've found an edge. You're laughing again, Right?? I'm not sure yet, but I have $22,500 in IRS Slips since June 1st, all on $1 machines. That sounds like a little bit of an edge to me. Yeah, there's been some losses in there, so it isn't perfected by a long shot. No I'm not going to tell you what to look for.

I just want you to know that money rules the game, regardless of what game it is, & that includes Pro Football.LVT

Lvt, what's my return in investment if I give you a grand up front to play with?

I don't know shit about gambling but I do follow the lines because on a flat plane the lines look like the wise guys know. Lately though, it seems like the underdogs are pulling it off. Same with ncaa football. What's up with that?

ray, It's not just the underdogs, but as a rule, most people bet favorites. it's what side & where the money is bet. In last weeks Detroit game, the big money was on GB the 1st half, & Detroit covered big. The game betting was on Detroit at home, after beating GB at Lambeau. Gb covered. That's just an educated guess. I don't think Vegas figured to win that money, but somehow they did. I don't take money for bets. I would normally bet GB -7 over Dallas, but with the health of the OL. Tony Romo out, & the weather, this would be a tough game to bet. 7 PT's is a lot to give to Dallas, with or without Romo. If I were betting this game, which I'm not, I would take GB give the 7 & Buy The Hook. That means I would put up 10% for 1/2 Pt., & get the game for 6 1/2.

DS, I could care less what you think. You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.LVT

"No one here is interested in the influence Gambling has on the outcome of NFL Football games."

If you think Gambling actually affects the outcome of football games you shouldn't even be watching! Gambling, betting lines and all that crap doesn't amt to a hill of beans in NFL games. Just plain Wrong!

I not sure DS. The lion/Seattle game? The ref was watching totally unobstructed and didn't throw the flag when the ball was batted out of the end zone. He knew the rule. The Clemson.N Carolina game? The ref was 10 feet from the guys he threw the off sides flag on. (the on sides kick). I think it's more than human error. It happens all the time. When there's millions of dollars involved greed takes over.

4thand1, I shouldn't expect anyone to accept what I believe to be true with gambling & Pro - College Division 1 football. There are so many things guy's like you & DS don't know when they happen, that control
games, like Just in case Flags, just in case a guy runs one back that upsets the point spread. These things are easy for me to see. You'll often hear Al Michaels on Sunday Night Football say something when a team is leading 36 to 7 with 2:30 to go. He'll say "Well this game still isn't over. The number is 45. A guy kicks a field go to make it 39 to 7 & Al will say "Now it's Over". What do you think he means? My wife knows the 1st quarter already who the Refs are helping. It's not Rocket Science. Of course she's heard it from me for years. For me it's easy to see how games are controlled, if they have to be. Most of them don't need any help, because the Betters bet the way Las Vegas wants them to. I wouldn't touch Sunday's GB game, even though I think 7 pts gets the money on Dallas. There are too many other circumstances that could enter in. You are correct. The Refs get involved when they have to. I don't expect to change anybody's mind.LVT

I'm having more fun with Slots. I'd rather put $2 in & win $500, than to bet $550 to win $500.

When Al Michaels says "Well this game isn't over", you're right, it's all about the money on the game.

The difference is, it has nothing to do with gambling, you twit. It has to do with the Network execs and producers speaking into Michael's ear, saying "Al, we can't have people changing the channel.. We have a LOT of sponsors and advertisers paying big money for 30 second slots during this game.. They expect viewership and ratings. Try to lure people into sticking with the game."

You know when he says the game is over? When it's the middle of the 4th Q and even the dog knows there's no chance of a comeback, and most importantly, most of the advertisements have already played.

I know you've said many gamblers believe Vegas has a guy on the sidelines who makes sure things go the way they need them to if need be. And you're right. But that's because those gamblers are idiots.

You replied to my post, I didn't reply to yours until you bad mouthed me. I would much rather talk civil than call one another names. I kept my part of the bargain. I promised the Good Lord I wouldn't Fight & argue with people as I've done most of my life, if he would cure me of Cancer. I already went back on my word. As stated, I'd rather not create enemies here, whether we agree or not. I shouldn't talk gambling to people who don't gamble. We're all Packer fans here, or most of us. That's what should be important. I extend a hand to you, if you do the same.LVT

I do like this comparison to 2010:
2010 - Greenbay played @ the Eagles, Falcons and Bears during the regular season and then had to play each of them in the playoffs again.

2015 - Greenbay played (or will have played) Possible playoff contenders Bears, Vikings, @ Panthers, @ Arizona, and Seattle. This could set up for a repeat with at least two of these teams

6 Vikings
3 Packers > 3 Packers
.................... 2 Arizona > 3 Packers
.............................................. > Pack/ Broncos
..................... 1 Carolina > Either one
4 NFC East > 5 Seattle
5 Seattle

We could even play four previously played teams, as much as people want to laugh that we'll get that far. How sick would all of these rematches be for retribution? If we played Seattle it would be in Lambeau for the nfcc.

This packer team is what it is an 8-8 or 9-7. You can't expect them to be more than that with the talent they have. There aren't pro bowlers running all over the place on this team. Mathews is it. There is a real lack of skill players. Pack fans should be giddy the team has the record it does. Lucky they played Seattle early. If they meet them in the play offs , adios packers. Ditto Carolina.

ray, You're Right!! We need Shields in there. I hope he's Ok. They said concussion. They could damn near call concussion on every play. I didn't hear any after game talk. Did they say he past protocol? I thought it was an arm injury. Maybe it's better, I hate to say that, but a concussion he could be back next week. We can't afford to have him out for the playoffs. You're right he did look good when he was in there. The whole defense with a couple of exceptions looked good. The team is right where I want them. This is still a race for the Division. Whatever happens, I know GB will be there, I just don't want to play Minnesota, for sure not back to back.

I've asked her twice to reveal herself. The Mask drives me crazy.

It's the Champagne & her Voice, No Question about it. I'd like to see what that looks like. If it's 400lbs, & looks like Boris Karloff, "I'LL PASS" If it looks like Christie Brinkley, I could fall real fast. Taryn, what's behind the Mask? LVT
