GB's draft is over, we traded both 7th round picks for a kicker we could have got after the draft. Let's hope the FO is gearing up right now for the UFDA signings after the draft. Get the phones fired up.

You DO know Smack was considered the best kicking prospect this year - don't you ?

I'd never heard of Smack, but I never thought they'd be looking to draft a kicker either.
I am a little disappointed they gave up two picks to move up 20 spots in the 7th round, but I don't know what the 'market' dictated at the time either.
Let's hope he's as good as it sounds that he might be!

Thanks Houndog, I had never heard of Smack either, but then I didn't research kickers because we didn't need one. I also didn't research punters, QBs, or Safeties. Because we didn't need any of them.
I hope he is good too, because we missed on Dallen Bently-TE by trading those 2 picks. He would have been our new TE2.

Seattle cleaned up in Round Seven: Fuller at CB, Eastern the Gopher, 3 Tech DT, and Dansby for another shot at CB. This guy didn't learn from his move ups for a punter, a long snapper and what's his name the kicker from Auburn.

Well Turo, there have been exactly 3 kickers drafted in the last 5 years. I didn't need insider info on that.
pick #236 Seahawks-Andre Fuller-CB Toledo. Yeah I would have took him over a kicker.
pick #255 I will let you know in 10 minutes-maybe a TE or WR would be nice
What do ya know Turo, Dallen Bentley went 1 pick later, the TE we needed.
I wouldn't have needed inside info to pick those 2 over the kicker we got.

I have never understood the consternation about drafting kickers. They're important--unless you're not interested in winning close games or not scoring when you can't get a touchdown; or are so good at two-point conversions that XPs are a last resort. So I applaud this pick as long as he is able to perform well in colder conditions.
Mason Crosby was also drafted in the sixth round.

Hey Split, I guess I still remeneber the kicker Bisaccia made us draft that was a total failure. The 49ers actually drafted a kicker out of Michigan in the 3rd round not too long ago, he also was a failure and is knocking around with other teams. He was the best kicker that year and I thought GB could sign him as a UFDA.
Kickers are hit and miss. A good one is very valuable, look at what the Cowboys just gave there Kicker, $28 million. I hope he is really good because we missed on Dallen Bentley, who almost everyone on here liked for TE in the mid-rounds.

It will be really interesting to see if a team takes a chance on Harris. He easily has the talent to play in the NFL. What team will risk the fallout, the Bengals and Raiders always took problem players. Maybe he plays a year in the UFL and try's to clean his image.
