Josh Jacobs good to go vs Lions

The Packers running back could see plenty of work against Detroit.

From NFL Network:

Jacobs did not practice Wednesday and was limited during Thursday and Friday's practices with an ankle injury. The Packers running back figures to see a lot of work against the Lions on what is expected to be a rainy and windy day at Lambeau Field.

Thanks for the update.

Jacobs good to go is certainly good news.
If not, I felt good about the combination of Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks.

Detroit's defense gives up 4.7 yards per rushing attempt - that is 21st in the NFL. Packers defense gives up 4.3 yards per rushing attempt - that is 11th in the NFL.

Packers should be able to win in a ground game.

Last year only 1 team ran more than they passed.

Baltimore had 494 pass attempts and 41 sacks for a total of 535 passing plays.
Baltimore ran the ball 541 times.

Our Packers last year had 581 pass attempts and 30 sacks for a total of 611 passing plays.
The Packers ran the ball 441 times - runs were 41.9% of the Packers offensive plays. .

This year, through 8 games, 6 teams are running the ball more than they are passing it - % of running to total offensive plays:

Eagles 53.2%
Steelers 52.7%
Baltimore 51.1%
Packers 50.5%
Commanders 50.5%
Lions 50.1%

4 of those 6 teams have a QB that is a dual threat and can run the read option.

Josh Jacobs durability is not the reason the Packers are running more than last year.

Jacobs has missed just as many total games with injuries over his career as Aaron Jones who has played 2 more years than Jacobs.

The Packers would have - and should have - had Jones with Jacobs this year, but Gutekunst, with his unique and crappy way of treating veteran players, did not give Jones the respect he deserved and let Jones go to the Vikings over a difference in $1 million dollar guarantee while handing the unproven Jordan Love an NFL record guaranteed $75 million signing bonus.
There is the problem if there is any.
