I am certainly not a MLF fan. I place most of the blame on him going back several years.
But in no way would I want to see him replaced during the season. In fact it would not bother me to see a qualified GM come in and make the needed changes.

Murphy would have to go and change the structure. At present Gute only does the roster picks/FAs. Ball does all the rest. You aren’t going to get the best candidates that way and any external GM who is wanted would want control of Ball’s job too.

I agree, we should hire the next TT and let him hire the head coach and oversee them. Under the current structure though, that is Murphy’s job and as long as that is the case we will struggle to get candidates with other options.

I edited this for brevity.

Murphy would have to go.

You're welcome.

I'd also say that short of getting John Schneider back, Gutekunst deserves the chance to run his own show. Back to the Ted Thompson model. Prudent investments, commitment to youth, and roster churn. No third contracts. Infrequent second contracts. A Head Coach who answers to the GM.

The cap must be abided.

GM can't make the changes, that's not how this organizational structure works.

I can see keeping MLF as OC. He's not an NFL HC.

Can Matt LaFleur survive the season? He should. It's a REBUILD YEAR. Fans should have embraced that fact during training camp and should have kept their expectations to a minimum. Youth needs time to develop. Accept the following:

1. Lions will win the division (especially now that Cousins is out for the year on IR)
2. Packers will not make the playoffs
3. Packers have a shot at a Top 10 draft pick in April

In Gutts mind there is absolutely nothing wrong with this team that practice and hard work in games wont solve. Anyone who thinks he has any plans to replace LeFleur or Love is foolish. That means he screwed up and how many people in power actually come out and say blame me, I should be fired and the pay checks stop coming.
I could see Gutt dropping back in the first round to get an additional pick in round 4 and pass on a QB or again, he would admit he screwed up.

That makes no sense as far as MLF. He bought the groceries and MLF didn't know what to make and letting the ingredients wither or rot.

Uncomfortable but true. The player dissent at the level of preparation and the widespread regression of players should be heeded. It’s not time to think about it but time for it to have been done.

Just reading all the chatter about possible trades and who was traded and all vaiables and not one, not one had anything to do with the Packers. Many teams like Dallas who are loaded with talent are staying pat but teams in need, no one is asking about any packers and Gutt has been dead silent like a cloistered monk in a monestary.
Thus there appears to be no one on the team anyone is interested in.
It seems the the Gary deal, Gutt emptied the cooking jar so the only hope the packers have is that Gary, Bak and Rodgers save this team because they got all the teams dam money. LOL

"Is Matt LaFleur's Job on the Line?!"

Yes, his job is dependent on the O-line's success or lack there of.

Wasn't there an older game show called, "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

*I know my football. I played in high school and even got into the game for the last play my senior year for homecoming! My date said later, she was "impressed and proud".

Hell yeah, mic drop...

Why is Bill Huber allowed to write? Does he have a relative who works for the Packers? McCarthy hated listening to him bumble his inane questions.

Should MLF's job be on the line--absolutely. Is MLF's job on the line--absolutely not (as long as Murphy is in charge.)

Fire MLF like they just did with Josh McDaniels.
