This is what I expected. I estimated $1.75M and he reportedly got 2 years, $4.85M. However, it may well turn out to be $2M cap in 2026 and $2.85M in 2027, and there probably is only a few hundred thousand in guaranteed money, possibly as a roster bonus and some more as a workout bonus.

It is hard to find guys who are good as Brooks as a pass blocker. His receiving skills are good. His running ability - wiggle, vision, - are just okay. Check this pass blocking: Brooks picks up the blitzing linebacker, then passes the LB off and picks up the DT. That is a wow play.

Off topic. Rich Bissachia.

I watch a couple of training camp practices each summer now since I got older (still working full time but I have a lot of vacation). It probably only amounts to 15 practices so far. They don't practice STs during the open practices really much at all.

Yes, the field goal kickers kick 6 field goals each, but there is no rush and thus no blocking. The only value is in assessing the long snapper and the kicker.

I have seen guys punting, but again never with a rush and thus no blocking. There is a guy usually catching the punts, so one can get an idea of how well a guy catches punts in summer weather usually with no rain. Again, one can assess the long snapper, the punter, and once they had 2 gunners running downfield and each gunner had to contend with 2 guys trying to block the gunner.

GB does not practice STs much during open practices. True, the last two weeks are often all closed practices and there are some closed practices in August and more where only the media is allowed. I don't think GB values STs too much.
