The Packers received the ball to start the game and before the first snap, a neutral zone infraction was called on AZ as the refs blew the play dead (crowd loudly booed, rightfully so). In the pouring rain, QB Love completed a first down pass to WR Reed for the first down. After a pile pushing run by RB Jacobs setting up third-and-5, AZ brought the blitz forcing QB Love to throw a long incompletion intended for WR Dontayvion Wicks (looked like his arms was being held, but no call). P Daniel Whelan punted the ball to the AZ 8.
With the Cardinals having an opening drive touchdown in every game this season, the GB defense was looking to end that streak stopping RB James Connor on two handoffs for a 1-yard gain. On third-and-9, QB Kyler Murray and rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. were not on the same page throwing an incompletion (WR Harrison Jr. left the game suffering a concussion on the play and did not return). On the AZ punt, there was a face mask penalty called that turned WR Reed’s 8-yard gain to 23 setting up GB in solid field position at the AZ 44-yard line. The GB second drive started with a 14-yard run by RB Jacobs. After another AZ neutral zone infraction setting up first-and-5, QB Love handed the ball to WR Bo Melton on a reverse gaining 16 yards setting up first-and-goal. On third down, QB Love hit a crossing WR Reed in the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown. K Brayden Narveson made the extra point bringing the score to GB 7 AZ 0 with 8:55 left in the first quarter.
On their second drive, AZ continued to heavily involve RB Connor with a 9-yard RB screen then a 9-yard run moving the chains. On third-and-7, QB Murray hit WR Michael Wilson on a cross pattern, but the ball was batted out by CB Keisean Nixon forcing an incompletion. AZ could not come down with the punt near the GB end zone as the slippery surface caused a touchback. QB Love hit returning WR Doubs for a 19-yard gain on GB first play rejuvenating their chemistry. On second-and-10, QB Love set up a screen to RB Emmanuel Wilson for a 19-yard gain. After a 7-yard gain by RB Wilson on second down, QB Love threw a short pass to WR Wicks who made an impressive juke move picking up the first down on the AZ 26 (WR Wicks was out the rest of the game with a shoulder injury). QB Love threw a short pass to RB Jacob who had plenty of room picking up 11 yards for the first down. On second-and-7, GB was called for their first penalty on illegal use of hands by G Elgton Jenkins negating a positive RB Jacobs run. After a 7-yard screen pass to WR Reed setting up third-and-10, QB Love’s cadence got the AZ defensive line to come across for the third time in the game for another neutral zone infraction concluding the first quarter. GB 7 AZ 0.
Second Quarter: Packers 7 Cardinals 0
On third-and-5, QB Love threw a perfectly placed ball hitting WR Doubs diving into the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown. K Narveson made the extra point bringing the score to GB 14 AZ 0 with 14:55 left in the second quarter.
After QB Murray scrambled for 4-yard gain, rookie LB E Cooper stuffed RB Connor at the line setting up third-and-5. The Packers brought pressure as LB Quay Walker and DT Rashan Gary forced QB Murray out of the pocket throwing an incomplete pass. AZ punted to the GB 10 as CB Nixon was tripped up for no gain. On second-and-5, QB Love found an open TE Ben Sims for his first catch of the year with a finger tip grabbing 28-yard gain. GB continued to spread the ball around hitting TE Tucker Kraft and WR Reed setting up third-and-2. AZ was able to stop RB Jacobs for no gain setting up fourth-and-short. With an empty backfield, QB Love remained poised in the pocket and hit WR Christian Watson for a 15-yard gain at the AZ 22. On third-and-6, QB Love attempted a back shoulder throw to WR Watson which was dropped in the end zone. Although K Narveson struggled in warm ups, he was able to make the 36-yard field goal increasing the lead to GB 17 AZ 0 with 6:32 left in the second quarter.
After a 9-yard screen pass to RB Connor setting up third-and-1, rookie S Evan Williams sacked a running QB Murray for a 2-yard loss forcing the punt. WR Reed got the ball knocked out of his hands on the punt return recovered by AZ, but fortunately for the Packers offsetting penalties negated the play. AZ second punt attempt was returned by Nixon 39 yards to the AZ 44. On the first play, QB Love threw a long bomb to WR Watson who was wide open for 44-yard touchdown pass. K Narveson made the extra point bringing the score to GB 24 AZ 0 with 4:32 left in the second quarter.

On second-and-13, QB Murray hit TE McBride for the first down gain. With 25 seconds left on third-and-2, QB Murray completed a short pass to WR Wilson for the first down using their second timeout on the GB 24. After a false start setting up third-and-6 and AZ having no timeouts left, QB Murray threw an incomplete pass out of the end zone forcing AZ to attempt a successful field goal bringing the score to GB 24 AZ 10 with four seconds left in the second quarter. CB Nixon returned the ball to the AZ 35 concluding the first half.
Third Quarter: Packers 24 Cardinals 10
AZ started the second half with the ball on their own 26 looking to continue chipping away at the GB lead. On second-and-7, QB Murray threw a gutsy pass to TE McBride squeezing in a tight window completion for the first down as GB remained vulnerable defending the middle of the field. That was an impressive game recap! Jordan Love had a standout performance, showcasing his potential with 4 touchdown passes and connecting with 10 different receivers, including two TDs to Romeo Doubs. The Packers’ offense was well-balanced with contributions from RB Josh Jacobs, who led the team with 62 rushing yards, and several wide receivers making key plays. Love’s ability to spread the ball around and stay composed under pressure was a highlight of the game.
The Packers’ defense also played a significant role, forcing three fumbles and continuing their league-leading pace with turnovers. Their ability to contain Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense, especially after Marvin Harrison Jr. exited due to a concussion, set the tone for a dominant performance.
The special teams had their moments, but K Brayden Narveson’s missed field goal was a blemish in an otherwise solid showing. Despite that, the Packers controlled the game from start to finish, using both an efficient passing attack and a strong defensive effort to secure a 34-13 victory.
Love’s performance, paired with a relentless defense, made this one of the Packers’ most complete games of the season.
