Nothing against Dusty and Kuhn, but there are 3 plays that tell the story of the Vegas game.
These are the 3 that followed the great catch and run by Watson.
1st down:---run AJ up the gut; get stoned at LOS.
2nd down---run AJ up the gut; get stoned at LOS.
3rd down---I've watched this play multiple times and still can't figure out what the hell was going on. Was it some sort of fade to the far corner? But the receiver was out of bounds!
WTF?!?
4th down---settle for FG.
At that point, for all intents and purposes.......................................................it was GAME OVER.
Inexplicable.

That is where I think the game was lost, too. When you run a play, you need to make a couple of yards. We didn't do that. It's a negative play because it doesn't advance the ball and it burns a down.

When we execute, we look a lot better on offense than we do when we don't. And it's 5 games into the season now and it's time to quit making pre-snap penalties. The coaches and Love have to have him throw it quicker or run for a few yards. He's a smart runner and he can hurt a defense with a few planned runs and some scrambles.

I don't know if you remember the Atlanta game, but their QB ended up staggering forward for 40 yards on 10 carries, mostly because he was trying to avoid a sack. A two yard run is better than a -7 sack or an incomplete.

Love's Adjusted Net Yards/attempt, which take into account sacks and interceptions, is 5.17 yards. I'd go ahead and risk it and have a few less passes and a few more organized draws and runs for him. Let him show he can get us into the endzone.
