PERSONNEL:
Willis Jacobs - Brooks Kraft Doubs - Golden Walker - Morgan - Jenkins - Rhyan - Tom Herman [Love took all 12 reps of 7 x 7, where there is no rush. TGR]
OFFENSE:
First defense finally stops JSN in 2-minute. Deep shot on 2nd & 20 after holding penalty is picked off by Evan Williams swooping over from centerfield. 2) There’s that guy again, JSN, over the middle to start move the ball period. Barner moves the chains with snag despite tight coverage from Walker. Diving Bullard just misses middle pass to JSN, who makes sliding catch. Holding call pushes SEA back, then Charbonnet gets a seam. 3) Smith-Njigba with another TD, this one with Hadden in coverage. Mercy. 3) Tough one-handed grab by Arroyo in back of ez over Walker. Spofford [The one-handed pass was very impressive - here is video from Seattle's Brady Henderson. TGR]
Mostly nondescript start for the offense until Willis finds Kraft down the field for a nice pickup. Clifford finds Sims on a rollout on the next play. Seahawks defense all over a Davis-Price Todd play to the outside. Willis to Musgrave on a crosser for a nice gain. 2) Malik Willis rolling to his left, throws a jump pass all the way across his body to his right and despite that probably being pretty ill advised, Kraft made a beautiful adjustment, went up and snagged a big catch down the field. 3) Willis just hit Doubs deep down the sideline. Gorgeous play. Doubs either smoked someone or blew a coverage but he had acres of space. Great ball by Willis. 4) Elgersma to Neyor over the middle for a big gain. Next play he gets sacked about 20 times before finally throwing incomplete. Now Clifford sacked about 20 times. [QBs are wearing red shrts and can't be hit. This phrase just means that several Seahawk players would have sacked Elgersma and Clifford on these two plays. TGR] Good coverage downfield from the Seahawks 2’s & 3’s. 5) The one player on offense who was dominating - Tucker Kraft - just fumbled off a tight end screen. Seahawks recover. Drop for Jacobs on an out route. Fade from Willis to Doubs, had him, Doubs should have had it. can’t come down with it. Really ugly right now for GBs offense. 6) Malik Willis buys time buys time buys time rolls right and somehow finds Luke Musgrave on a really impressive throw. 7) Willis to Hardman for another really nice pickup. Willis is having a great day. Tries Heath for a back shoulder but good coverage. Heath tried to make a one hander but couldn’t come up with it. Screen to Jacobs for a nice pickup. Herman
Jordan Love does everything in 7 on 7 out of the gun (but holding the ball) and goes just 3 for 12 all in red zone. Seahawks D had at least four pass breakups at or near the goal line. Demosky [Love overthrew an open WR Neyor, Doubs dropped another pass after dropping one Tuesday, and Jacobs dropped a simple out. The rest were simply no one being open. See Herman's more detailed description below. TGR]
7x7 red zone period upcoming with Jordan at QB: (12 throws - TGR] Jordan completed short to Jacobs on the first play. Couple incompletions in a row, latest a corner to Musgrave that went out of bounds. Now a pbu by Seattle on an attempt to Golden in the red zone. Finally a touchdown to who else - Tucker Kraft. Isaiah Neyor getting a two with the ones just cooked Seattle’s corner but Love misses him in the back of the end zone. Pbu over the middle by Seattle Love to Musgrave for a touchdown on a crosser. Love tries to force one over the middle to Heath but it falls incomplete. Lots of traffic there. Love tosses one up to Golden who tries to slow a spectacular 1 handed catch but can’t come down with it. Pritchett breaks up a pass for Doubs short of the end zone. Seattle’s defense pretty dominant this period. Now love tries to find sims and it’s another Pbu by Seattle. Rough outing there for GBs offense. Herman
Sean Clifford too far for Neyor but he had two steps in front of Seattle DB. Hodkiewicz [That is two fairly big receptions for Neyor not realized due to the QBs. TGR]
Red zone 1x1
Heath wins for a td. 2) Kraft slips and Julian Love picks off the pass. 3) Doubs easy win vs Witherspoon for a td. 4) Golden with another win for a td on an out. 5) Hardman td vs Coby Bryant from Love. 4) Matthew Golden just toasted Damarion Williams [who is not good - TGR] for a touchdown in one on ones in his first two. 5) Sheppard wins easy on Shaq Griffin. 6) Hartman with a smooth win, he’s super impressive in 1x1s. 7) Cornelius Johnson sick move for the deep td on Josh Jobe [2nd or really a 3rd stringer who likelyt will make the 53 - TGR] 8) Now Ben Sims toasts Ty Okada [3rd string safety - TGR] for a deep touchdown Seahawks had some wins too but who cares about that. Herman
Two minute drill: Own 30 - down 7. 1 timeout [Willis at QB - TGR]. First & 10. Jenkins & Tom not participating with the ones. Golden false start Ball to Kraft for a short gain Incomplete to Sheppard Pbu with an attempt to Golden on an over route 4th and 12 - Willis to Heath for a big gain over the middle. Clock ticks. Gb spikes but illegal formation. 1st and 15. Heath had a step on the left side but Willis misses long. 2nd & 15 upcoming. 35 seconds left. 1 timeout. Willis behind 81, incomplete Willis rolls left, buys time, throws one up for Musgrave. Caught. Big play. Spike. And once again for some reason they end it there and don’t complete the drive. Confusion. Own 30 - down 7. 1 timeout. Confusion. Herman
Number 2s. 2 minute drill. 1:30 left. Down 2. 1 timeout. Clifford at QB. 1st and 10. Own 30. Incomplete first down. Clifford to Neyor down the deep left sideline incomplete. Clifford good ball to Baker but he drops it. Clifford deep to Hicks. Just too far behind to make an adjustment on it. Incomplete. Defense wins. Herman
Highlights of 1v1 pass catchers-defenders vs Seahawks: Deep completions to Golden over Williams and Sims over Okada. In RZ, Doubs with nifty move for catch at front pylon vs Woolen, and Julian Love gets INT in end zone when Kraft slips. spofford
Oh man if Luke Musgrave can take a jump this year... What a catch!! Basaracki. [first vide of Musgrave: basaraki videos of Musgrave: Basaraba
DEFENSE:
Welch & Baldwin combine on a good run stop for twos. Stackhouse with a pressure on Milroe. 2) Hadden with another PBU for twos in RZ 7/7, with lotta hollering. Young CB looking to rebound from tough game in Indy. 3) Smith-Njigba having a day for Seahawks. 2 TDs in RZ 7 on 7. You’d think he and Darnold have played together for longer than a few months. Not like he’s wide open, but dude just makes plays vs decent Packers coverage. 4) First defense finally stops JSN in 2-minute. Deep shot on 2nd & 20 after holding penalty is picked off by Evan Williams swooping over from centerfield. 5) There’s that guy again, JSN, over the middle to start move the ball period. Barner moves the chains with snag despite tight coverage from Walker. Diving Bullard just misses middle pass to JSN, who makes sliding catch. Holding call pushes SEA back, then Charbonnet gets a seam. 6) Smith-Njigba with another TD, this one with Hadden in coverage. Mercy. [[Smith Njigba finished with 3 TDs and some first downs. TGR] 7) Tough one-handed grab by Arroyo in back of ez over Walker. 8) Hadden with a nice PBU for twos followed by lotta trash talk. Wooden with a pressure. Enagbare gets in there for a sack. Then Ballentine almost gets pick off deflected slant. Great sequence by twos on defense. 9) Clark reads a screen nicely and then flag flies on King in coverage. Spofford
2 Minute Drill. Own 30. Down 7. Number 1 defense up now. Incomplete on first down. Good coverage. Darnold to JSN over the middle. Hes torched GB’s secondary today. Also a penalty on the Packers defense to stop the clock. Incomplete short Sack by the Packers defense. Would say that one was a coverage sack. Looks like it might have been a hold on Seattle. 2nd & 20. Evan Williams picks off Darnold on a deep ball to JSN. Defense wins. Herman
Evan Williams INT in 11v11's Good lord the push up front from Warren Brinson. Likely would end in a sack. See the video from Alexander Basaraki
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Brandon McManus misses just his fifth and sixth FGs on camp. Into the wind, hit the left upright from 49 and just short from 55. Now 70 of 76 (92%) for all of camp. Demovsky
McManus went 3-5. Missed from 49 and 56. McNamee good from 47r, 44l and 33. 2) Returned to practice: K Brandon McManus DNP: Referee Brandon McManus. Hodkiewicz
MISCELLANEOUS:
Smith-Njigba converts 2 third downs, one with 1-handed sideline grab. Then leaping catch over middle on third & 9. Spofford
If they aren’t already there, the Seahawks and Packers are approaching double digits in terms of scuffles. A few punches have been thrown, including during one fight between Ernest Jones IV and Packers OL Zach Tom. Brady Henderson.
Jake Bobo reaction this play: “Jax makes it look so easy. It’s kind of annoying. He’s just talented. Great play. Great shot by Sammy. It’s very hard to defend a goal-line fade playing inside leverage on Jax. I would have hated to be that corner.” 2) Immediately after the fight, Sam Darnold threw a TD pass to JSN with Kamal Hadden in coverage. JSN was very fired up after that one. This is the JSN touchdown, after which he yelled “this shit too easy.” 3) Another big TE catch (by the Packers). Back shoulder vs Riq. Michael Shawn Dugar
How good were the tight ends against Seahawks? Tucker Kraft had 8 catches for about 125 yards, though he fumbled a screen. Luke Musgrave had 5 for about 100 yards. Huge production. Jordan Love on what it’s like when both click like that: “The possibilities are endless.” Wood
After going 1-1 during the one-on-ones, Hadden broke up a pass from Drew Lock to former Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to start a third-down period. Hadden celebrated by screaming a series of obscenities at Seattle’s sideline. During a seven-on-seven red-zone period, Hadden broke up another pass from Lock.
Kingsley Enagbare also had an excellent day. He had sacks during a third-down period and 2-minute drill, back-to-back impact rushes – he batted down the pass on the second of those – and a tackle for loss on a running play by Kenneth Walker. Huber

So if Kraft and Musgrave managed 200 plus yards, did they counterbalance JSN? Not much mention of either in the end zone plays. Why? Especially with few other bigger targets? Overall the Seahawks appear not particularly pleased with their D or impressed by ours. It’s a little hard to judge our receivers of course as most were in street clothes. Neyor wide open deep twice only for Love and Clifford to both miss badly per Herman. Neyor has something.
