NFL SCOUTING REPORT:
From Lance Zierlien: Jackson is a smooth athlete with good size and elite track speed. In totality, the play and production have failed to match the traits dating back to his days at USC (2022-2023), but his 2024 tape gives evaluators the best look at his ceiling. He can disrupt from press but can be a step slow to transition in-phase from man. Tampa 2 and deep-zone coverages suit him best. Scheme won’t matter as much as consistency and confidence for Jackson, though.
From Dane Brugler: Jackson is a battle tested size-speed athlete, but his inconsistent eye disciplne and short area movements held him back on his college tape. Improvments in those areas - and a role on special teams - can get him onto an NFL roster.
From the CHTV Draft Guide: Domani Jackson is one of the most naturally athleticcornerbacks in the class and brings elite speed to the position.A former five-star recruit, he has the recovery burst and fluid hips to stay connected with receivers downfield. Jackson is comfortable playing in man coverage and has experience matching up with high-level SEC receivers. His speed allows him to close quickly on routes and recover when challenged vertically. When he stays disciplined with his technique, he shows the ability to limit separation and compete at the catch point. Jackson’s athletic traits and ability to run with fast receivers give him strong upside as a boundary corner at the next level.
FIT WITH THE PACKERS:
Jackson is an instant special teams contributor with that speed that he brings, and should be strong enough to help at the gunner spots. If he can develop a bit of nuance, he shoul dbe able to threaten for some playing time in a year or two, espcially if both Nixon and Valentine are off the roster in 2027.
Realistically, his early value will come on special teams, where his closing speed and size make him useful on coverage units. From there, it becomes a development question. Can he learn to trust his eyes instead of his feet? Can his hand technique at the line tighten up enough to avoid constant penalties? His physical traits give him a real chance to grow into a contributing rotational corner. But the inconsistency that followed him from USC through Alabama means patience will be required from whoever takes him on.
CAREER NOTES:
Domani Jackson came out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, as one of the most decorated defensive back recruits in recent memory. He earned consensus five-star ratings across all major recruiting services and was a two-sport athlete who tied the California state record in the 100 meters during his senior track season. On the football field, Jackson tallied 48 tackles and nine pass breakups as a sophomore in 2019 while helping Mater Dei capture multiple championships during his prep career.
His college career took a winding route. Two seasons at USC yielded just 18 games, 28 tackles, and four pass breakups, and Jackson never locked down a full-time starting job with the Trojans. He transferred to Alabama before the 2024 season and immediately stepped into the lineup, starting all 13 games. That first year in Tuscaloosa produced 52 tackles, seven pass breakups, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. The coaching staff recognized his efforts with five weekly defensive awards across the season.
Jackson came back for 2025 and started 10 of 15 games as a senior, finishing with 39 tackles and a pass breakup. He accepted a Shrine Bowl invitation following the season.
COMMENTARY:
We knew coming into the weekend that Brian Gutekusnt was going to add numbers to the cornerback room... because that's exactly what he said he would do! Jackson is a great swing here in the sixth round, possessing high athletic traits and top tier college competition. There won't be much, if any, expectations on the young man in his rookie year, which means he should be able to take a redshirt year to develop some nuance to his game.

Grabbed just as good of one in UDFA, as a guy in 6th-7th round. GB only had 6 picks this year. Next year 13. What do you want? Whole lotta cap space, too,

It's the RAS show now. 9.01
Gute wants to restock the CB room and for good reason. Anticipate more press coverage which I am 100% down for.

Gannon will use more press coverage than Hafley was hoping for in 2025 when the DL lost its major disrupters in Parsons, Wyatt and the disappearance of Gary after those two were lost.
Yet Gannon by scheme uses more zone with his quarters D by design....kind of. Quarters is playing man in your zone vs playing the grass. See who is invading your space and sprint to deny him.
Cisse is perfect for this. This kid could be a good fit too!

Good prospect. Size and speed. Inconsistent college career...that's where many 6th rounders are. He is heading to the Packers, loaded with some very good DB coaches.
Another CB makes sense to keep the camp competition intense, what I believe Gannon stresses. Gotta win the jobs.

This guy seems to have some tools. Kind of a mystery why he hasn't put it all together. Probably worth a shot. I was hoping they would draft another CB.

The article makers have had a field day trying to make Packers fans think we need a QB in this draft. I will just say it again, none of these late round QBs are anywhere close to being as good as the 2 we have now. We don't need to waste a pick on a QB who has zero chance to make the team.
Now to the pick, Domani Jackson has some real CB skills. This is a player that is much farther along than a normal 6th round project. He has started at USC and Alabama, so he is probably pretty damn good. This is a great developmental pick. 6'1 200 lbs and has run 4.3s. I think he has had some attitude issues. GB will coach him up. He has the talent to start in the NFL. Alabama DBs are usually solid players.
I am proud to say every player we have picked so far has been in my mocks, and in fact Jackson was in my mock today. I thought we might grab Diego Pounds here but we are running out of picks. I hope GB is already mapping out who they will try to bring in as Priority UFDAs. I would load up on OL, CB, DT, WR, & TE.

First - not the writers, BG said he wanted to get back to taking a dev QB every year like they used to- the GM, not the media
"the two we have now?
Ridder???
That's hardly a developmental QB
Though the MOST charitable view is they saw enough in Ridder that he's salvageable. Doubtful... But sure, can drink the cool aid
They must have really not thought much of the LSU QB. But I think everyone is surprised he went from mid round to 7/UDFA

NJ, I have probably read 10-12 articles on Packers sites and other NFL sites that have said GB needs to draft a "developmental" QB this year. It's either that or a who's who of which QB we should trade for. An article today again mentioned we are the most likely trade partner for the Colts bust Richardson.
Desmond Ridder is 26 years old, so still young and developmental. He has talent.
Kyle McCord is the other backup. He was drafted by the Eagles last year. He is 23 years old. So also developmental. Did the LSU QB throw for 4700 yards last year like McCord did in 2024 @ Syracuse? Nope.
Our QB room was ranked 7th in the league in an article I read a couple weeks ago. I will just be happy with our 2 backups.

Jackson wore #1 at USC per family tradition
.The jersey number #1 was vacated
by cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry,
who left for the NFL.

The Packers hired Bobby Babich and Daniel Bullocks, in part, for their ability to teach. Coach 'em up!
I like this pick a lot.

No affinity for the Crimson Tide here. You must be thinking of someone else.

Packers took a Kicker! Trey Smack. Well, that's it. Traded both 7ths.
They absolutely needed K competition. Smack was top rated.

That's kind of a disappointing ending to a really solid draft. Trading 2 picks for a UFDA kicker. Oh well Packers FO, let's get cracking on our UFDA board.

Not to be nitpicky, but it's UDFA, not UFDA. Do you have any favorites you would like to see them sign?

Oh come on 13TC. I've used UFDA (purposely). I just love the sound of it (oofdah) and its apt.

Sorry, but UFDA sounds way too much like oofdah which is a common Minnasooota phrase.
It's all good. I just hope they get some good ones, however it's spelled. It's been a good draft. Very little to complain about.

Well , I would have drafted Diego pounds for sure in the 7th if we had kept those picks, he was a good one for sure. The Ravens grabbed him first after the draft. I want an accurate kicker, it hurts to have inconsistency. But we could have had Pounds and Dallen Bentley with those 7th pound picks, that stings.
Sturdivant-WR-Fla. We got him so that's good. I mocked him to GB alot.
Jeff Caldwell-WR is another. 6'5 215 4.31 speed-competition for Watson.
Josh Moton-CB
Heidman-Edge.

April 25, 2026 at 05:15 pm
Actually, they did! Gave up 236 and 255 to pick him with 216!
I'd have taken LSU QB Nussmeier with one of those picks, even the 216 they traded up for!

I read between the lines on these guys and this one says, he mentally cant grasp the game at the college level. When you have the size and speed and played at two top colleges with great coaching and your sixth round, that says their may be something missing up stairs.
Sounds like Starks to me, had the size and speed but wasnt a rocket scientist and couldnt figure it out.

Domani was way better in zone than man, and guess what, Gannon runs way more zone. Fit the pick!
