#PackersDaily: Rough day at the office in Denver
The Packers weren't very productive against the Broncos for much of Friday's joint practice, giving the coaching staff plenty to work on.

Boo! It's all the sportscaster's fault. (Just kidding)
Well, "area of opportunity," as Mr Wahle says ...

No transcription let alone a summary, so I will have to pass on these comments and look elsewhere.

I'm with you, CW, but dinosaurs like us need to realize this exact video currently has almost 3,300 views (with a healthy comment section) on the CHTV YouTube channel. Nagler's never right, and I don't care to see or hear him, but he does know what he's doing with his content.

my best guess is that you could input this video into ChatGPT and ask it to summarize. that's my best guess because I'm not going to try

I hate that the Packers put the players in a terrible situation in these joint practices of being asked to played pretty hard but not too hard.
Football players aren't built that way, and it shocks me that Coach LaFleur hasn't yet figured this out, but insists on putting his players in this decidedly awkward, no-win situation.
If it's true that the joint practice today got testy between the teams, I'm not surprised. The players were probably in a bad mood at the idiocy of the dilemma they were forced into.

On Sunday night in the preseason game, the players can just play hard, without undue and actually undefined restraints.
Yes, the schemes will probably be simpler than in a regular season game, and there will be less blitzes, but guys known they are free to hit hard.
Plus, it's a real game with real officiating to set the parameters in a way familiar to players.
Also, there's a crowd at the stadium, and a large audience on television, which helps to get the adrenaline running in preparation for this brutal game of football.
Players need every advantage to have the proper edge to show themselves at their best.
Our clueless coaching staff is hindering them in a way that is truly, even if unintentionally, cruel -- even as these guys compete for their dream jobs under intense pressure.
I doubt the ones with the most on the line for getting NFL jobs are at liberty to speak out.
I'm angry for them.
They just want to play real football. The preseason is the closest thing they get in order to make the team.

P.S. My hunch is that these joint practices risk injury much more than preseason games.
When players can't go all out, they're more likely to get hurt.

I haven’t yet made up my mind about the joint practices; the NFL has applauded them. I’m more leaning with Swisch; they’re not a great idea.
Frankly, I don’t know what the answer is?

To me, the answer is to play the starters for a quarter or two in the preseason games.
Although I feel strongly about this, as is often the case, I could be wrong.
I'm glad for other perspectives.

There are three preseason games in which the players get to prove themselves. That's what the league mandates. The coaches can't do anything about it. Hardly anyone liked having a fourth preseason game anyway. These inter-squad scrimmages are just extra practices. I agree that they seem kind of awkward, but to describe them as "cruel" and to assume the players are angry about them is a bit over the top. The players who are competing for roster spots still have preseason games to play in. The scrimmages are just a chance for the team to tune up a little against fresh competition. I highly doubt that there is more chance of injury in scrimmages than in preseason games, considering that physical contact is restricted during the scrimmages.

The fights break out this time of year during practices -without- joint practices.
Players are asked to practice hard without practicing too hard -without- joint practices.
Players are asked to thump without thumping too hard -without- joint practices.
Nearly all players say it's a welcomed change of pace to practice against outsiders instead of the teammates they've faced every day for weeks.
Nearly all players and coaches say it's a tremendous benefit to have your offense play against an unknown defense (and vice versa) as you get a real idea of how your units are standing up to competition as opposed to simply learning how to exploit your own team's weaknesses.
If there is data suggesting injury is more likely during intersquad practices vs. intrasquad practices, there's no coaching staff in the world that would be putting their teams in this situation as the regular season draws nearer and nearer.
You could even argue that if fights are going to break out, it's probably to your benefit they happen against an opponent. Half the players involved aren't your own. ;)

I'm not so sure about what "nearly all players and coaches" are saying -- but I appreciate your comment, Oppy, even in disagreement.
Thumbs up from me.

If the Packers starters are getting tired of, even chippy with, their own teammates in training camp, all the more reason to let them loose for a quarter or two in a preseason game.
Stop babying these guys. They want to get out on the field before fans and play some real football, even if it's the preseason.
Anyway, I want players on the Packers who are champing/chomping at the bit to play some football, instead of pampering themselves on the sidelines ;-).

My takeaway? Hey, nobody got seriously injured? Good day. This is another glorified “practice”. Content creators have nothing else to talk about so…On to tomorrow!
