I'm a big fan of sports and pop culture. The "402" in my username refers to the area code where I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Though corn-fed and a lover of meat and potatoes, I did not inherit the family curse of rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Instead, I focused my attention as a fan on pro sports. A Packers fan since 2003, I've seen this team have great offenses, great defenses, great special teams, and I've been fortunate enough to have seen excellence at every single position on the field. The Packers have spoiled me, and now during this time where the Packers are rebuilding and re-defining an identity, I'm excited to follow the draft, support the young guys, root on the coaching staff & front office, and bear witness as the Green Bay Packers define the next chapter in the franchise's history.
Fun fact, Ahman Green went to high school at Central High in Omaha, Nebraska, a few miles from where I was raised. When I was 8 years old in 2003, I saw him play in some primetime game and became a Packers fan the moment my mom told me that she watched him play his high school ball.
With 17 players either sidelined or limited due to injury, Tuesday's minicamp practice saw plenty of opportunities for young players to take on larger roles.
Packers edge rusher Lukas Van Ness headlines a 2023 draft class entering their 4th season. Van Ness should start in Week 1 for the first time in his career.
