Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that Thomas Paterson, the Jacksonville Jaguars Senior Sales Manager of Season and Premium Seating, has resigned following a July 18 arrest.
Paterson, 35, was arrested for disorderly intoxication/public disturbance, and resisting an officer with violence.
Spearheading the Jaguars' efforts to avoid local television blackouts falls to Macky Weaver, owner Wayne Weaver's nephew, who was promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing in the spring.
To successfully do this, the Jaguars have needed to move nearly 19,000 tickets per game during a recession, and in an area of the country where unemployment is nearly 11%. Of those 19,000 tickets, 4,000 were classified as "Premium" seating, the sales of which were overseen by Paterson.
The Jaguars, who declined comment to PFT, are also encouraging season-ticket holders to buy an extra seat, which would appear to also fall under Paterson's scope of responsibility.
