Brian Westbrook to Visit the Broncos

After visiting today with the Washington Redskins, free agent running back Brian Westbrook is en route to Dove Valley, Colorado to visit with the Denver Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The Broncos' backfield isn't as crowded as the one in Washington, which has veterans Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson, and Willie Parker vying for carries and roles this summer.

Westbrook's former Philadelphia Eagles teammate Correll Buckhalter and 2009 first-round pick Knowshon Moreno are at the top of the Broncos' depth chart. With only J.J. Arrington--who missed all of last season--and a trio of untested backs contending for a third running back spot on the roster, Denver might be Westbrook's best opportunity to earn significant playing time in 2010.

In addition to Denver and Washington, the St. Louis Rams have expressed an interest in signing Westbrook.
