Broncos Place Two on IR

The Denver Broncos announced that linebacker Joe Mays and tight end Dan Gronkowski have been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Mays injured his left knee, and Gronkowski his left ankle, during Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in July, Mays has 40 tackles on the season, including nine on special teams. Gronkowski was acquired before the start of the regular season, with the Broncos trading 2009 second-round cornerback Alphonso Smith to the Detroit Lions to acquire the 2009 seventh-round pick out of Maryland.

Gronkowski had 8 receptions for 65 yards and 4 special teams tackles for the Broncos this season.
