Broncos Re-Sign DL Le Kevin Smith

The Denver Broncos announced the re-signing of free agent defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith.

Smith was released when the Broncos signed Kevin Vickerson on September 7.

A sixth-round pick (206th overall) out of Nebraska by the New England Patriots in 2006, Smith was acquired, along with a 2010 7th round pick, by the Broncos last August in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Smith appeared in 13 games for the Broncos, making two starts. He was credited with 10 tackles and a quarterback sack and was re-signed to a one-year deal in March.

In 44 career games, the 6-3, 308-pound Smith has 28 tackles and the one quarterback sack.

Denver had an open roster after waiving linebacker Diyral Briggs on Monday.
