Broncos to Sign RB Andre Brown Off Practice Squad

The Denver Broncos will sign running back Andre Brown off their practice squad, reports Aaron Wilson for the National Football Post.

A fourth-round pick (129th overall) out of North Carolina State by the New York Giants last season, the 6-0, 224-pound Brown spent his rookie season on injured reserve with an Achilles injury.

Brown led the Giants with 95 yards rushing during the pre-season, adding a touchdown and one reception for six yards before he was waived and claimed by the Broncos earlier this month. Brown did not dress for the Broncos' season-opening loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and was cut and re-signed to the practice squad after the Broncos acquired running back Laurence Maroney from the New England Patriots.

2009 first-round pick Knowshon Moreno remains the starter for the Broncos, who also have running backs Correll Buckhalter and Lance Ball on the 53-man roster.
