Chargers OT Tra Thomas Has Knee Scoped

San Diego Chargers offensive tackle Tra Thomas will miss two weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Thomas was signed to a one-year deal in June as insurance at the left tackle position in case of a lengthy holdout by restricted free agent left tackle Marcus McNeill. The 35-year old Thomas frequently missed practice time during his one season with the Jaguars due to knee issues.

Since signing Thomas, the Chargers have reduced McNeill's one-year tender to $588,500, a $2.579 million decrease in non-guaranteed base salary. McNeill is threatening to hold out until Week 10 of the regular season, and with Thomas resting his knee, second-year lineman Bryan Dombrowski has been getting the reps at left tackle with the first-team offense.

Thus far, results have been mixed.
