Chargers S Steve Gregory Suspended Four Games

San Diego Chargers safety Steve Gregory has been suspended for four games by the National Football League for violating the league’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gregory will begin serving the suspension immediately. He will be eligible to return for the Chargers’ Week 9 game against the Houston Texans on November 7.

An undrafted free agent out of Syracuse, the fifth-year safety from Staten Island, New York has started all four of the Chargers games this season, totaling a team-high 30 tackles and an interception, which he snared during Sunday's 41-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

During his 65-game career, Gregory has 160 tackles and two interceptions.

Gregory's four-game suspension will cost him $188,235 in base salary.
