Chargers Sign LB Cyril Obiozor; Re-Sign CB Dante Hughes

One day after losing linebacker Jyles Tucker for the season, and safety Steve Gregory to a four-game suspension, the San Diego Chargers have signed reinforcements for the back seven.

Linebacker Cyril Obiozor has been signed off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, and the team has re-signed cornerback Dante Hughes, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Signed by the Green Bay Packers in 2009 as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, Obiozor (6-4, 249) has a pair of tackles in six career games, including one game with the Cardinals earlier this season.

Hughes (5-10, 190) was a third-round pick out of Cal by the Indianapolis Colts in 2007. In 25 career games, including over the last two seasons with the Chargers, Hughes has 37 tackles and one interception.

The Chargers shuttled Hughes on and off their roster thus far in 2010, releasing him last Saturday to add linebacker Kion Wilson off the practice squad.

San Diego has also signed linebacker Nate Triplett to their practice squad. A fifth-round pick out of the University of Minnesota by the Minnesota Vikings, the 6-3, 240-pound Triplett had six tackles and a pass defensed before he was waived on September 4.
