The San Diego Chargers have signed veteran long-snapper Ethan Albright, the team announced on Tuesday.

After David Binn handled the snapping duties for the Chargers from 1994 through the first week of the 2010 season, Albright becomes the fourth snapper the Chargers have used this month. Binn was injured in the Chargers' Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and was placed on injured reserve to make room for James Dearth, who was injured during practice and replaced by Ryan Neill.

Neill injured his leg covering a second quarter punt against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and was placed on injured reserve.

Albright, 39, has snapped in 234 NFL games, including 144 between 2001 and 2009 with the Washington Redskins, earning a trip to the Pro Bowl following the 2007 season.

In addition to the long-snapper change, the Chargers signed veteran safety Quinton Teal and cornerback Dante Hughes, and waived running back Curtis Brinkley and linebacker James Holt was placed on injured reserve.

Hughes had been with the Chargers, but was waived when Brinkley was signed off the Chargers' practice squad on Saturday to improve the depth at the running back position for Sunday's game, which first-round running back Ryan Mathews missed with an ankle injury.C
