Chargers WR Vincent Jackson Injured Prior to Last Night's Game

Following a prolonged contract squabble, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson's highly-anticipated return to the gridiron lasted two plays, with Jackson exiting last night's 36-14 win over the Indianapolis Colts with a right calf injury.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Jackson's injury may have been the result of the 2009 Pro Bowler overcompensating for a left calf injury that happened during a practice last week.

After not signing his restricted free agent tender during the summer, Jackson was placed on the team's "Roster Exempt" list in August, which required him to sit out three games following the date he reported to the team.

Jackson signed his tender on October 29, but was able to practice in the four weeks prior to being activated to the 53-man roster.
