Colts TE Dallas Clark Says He'll Be Ready for Regular Season

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark will likely miss the entire pre-season with a left leg injury, but says he'll be ready for the Houston Texans in Week One.
"The good thing is it's making improvement and, worst-case scenario, I'll definitely be there for Week 1," Clark said Monday, according to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star. "That's a reassuring thing."
Clark declined to divulge what the injury is. The 31-year old played in all 16 games for the first time in his 7-year career, and became the second tight end in NFL history to catch 100 passes in a single-season, earning his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
Though Clark expects to be ready for the regular season, the Colts have solid depth at the tight end position. Jacob Tamme and fifth-round pick Brody Eldridge have worked with the first-team offense this pre-season, and each have four receptions through two pre-season games, with Tamme catching two of the Colts' three passing touchdowns, including a 21-yard connection with Peyton Manning against the Buffalo Bills last Thursday.
