Dolphins Terminate Jake Grove's Contract

The Miami Dolphins terminated veteran center Jake Grove's contract, reports Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Veteran offensive lineman Cory Procter has been re-signed.

Grove, 30, was set to earn $2.66 million in 2010, the second season of a five-year, $29.5 million contract that included a $12 million signing bonus. Grove started 10 of 12 games last season, but has struggled to stay healthy and was passed on the depth chart by Joe Berger.

Grove injured his shoulder during the pre-season finale, so presumably an injury settlement was reached, or is in in the works.

Procter began this off-season as a restricted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, who released him on May 17. With the Dolphins brass--Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, Tony Sparano--familiar with Procter from their Cowboys' days, they signed him to a one-year deal on May 24, but released him on September 5.
