The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the signing of third-round defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
A four-year starter at defensive end for the University of Washington, Te'o-Nesheim was a two-time second-team All-Pac 10 selection. During his 49-game career, Te'o-Nesheim totaled 194 tackles, including 47 for a loss and a school-record 30 quarterback sacks.
Te'o-Nesheim posted 11 quarterback sacks in 2009.
The 6-3, 263-pound Te'o-Nesheim had an impressive showing at the 2010 Scouting Combine, posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.73 seconds to go along with 29 reps on the bench press, a 37" vertical leap, and a 10'01". Te'o-Nesheim has a non-stop motor, which will be on display for the Eagles' special teams units, and perhaps as a situational pass-rusher.
Te'o-Nesheim is the 10th of the Eagles' 13 picks in the 2010 NFL Draft to sign a contract, and is the most highly drafted choice to do so. First-round defensive end Brandon Graham, second-round safety Nate Allen, and fifth-round wide receiver Riley Cooper remain unsigned.
