Injuries Continue to Come in Bunches for the Broncos

With Pro Bowl linebacker Elvis Dumervil likely out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, then his replacement breaking his hand a few days later, and running backs Knowshown Moreno and Correll Buckhalter getting injured one day after the team traded the third-string back, the last thing the Denver Broncos would need during their scrimmage at Invesco Field are more injuries.

So of course third-round wide receiver Eric Decker left the practice with an injury to his left foot/ankle area, Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post reports.

Decker started 40 of 41 games for the Gophers, finishing his college career with 220 receptions for 3,000 yards and 24 touchdowns. Decker battled through leg injuries in 2008 to haul in 84 passes for 1,074 yards and 7 touchdowns, and was named second-team All-Big Ten in 2008 and 2009.

Decker's college career ended after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his left foot, which kept him out of the team's OTAs and mini-camps. Decker didn't begin doing on-field work until July, when he joined Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's off-season workout program in Minnesota.

And because injuries happen in bunches in Denver, first-round wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who broke his left foot in pre-Combine workouts in February, was having his left foot/ankle area checked out during tonight's practice, as well.
