Jaguars Naming Rights Deal Still Hasn't Received City Council Approval

The Jacksonville City Council Finance Committee declined to approve the Jacksonville Jaguars' naming rights deal with EverBank, Tia Mitchell of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Chairman Daniel Davis deferred the issue until 3pm on Tuesday, as members have questions as to why the city agreed to waive their 25% cut of the revenue from the naming rights deal, which would reportedly be $4 million over five years.

In addition to the naming rights deal at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the Jaguars reached a naming rights deal with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida for their practice fields, and struck a deal on a scratch ticket with the Florida lottery.
