The New York Jets did not submit waiver-wire claims on wide receiver Randy Moss or linebacker Shawne Merriman, Eric Allen of NewYorkJets.com reports.

After reaching the AFC Championship Game in 2009, the Jets made several high-profile additions to the roster at both positions, trading for Santonio Holmes and signing free agent Jason Taylor.

Moss was waived after a disappointing month with the Minnesota Vikings, who acquired him from the New England Patriots for a third-round pick in early October. The San Diego Chargers waived Shawne Merriman from injured reserve on Tuesday.
