The New York Jets have signed outside linebacker Tim Knicky, his agent, Marc Lillibridge, announced on Twitter.

The 6-4, 236-pound Knicky posted 24.5 quarterback sacks during his final two seasons at Stephen F. Austin, earning first-team All-Southland Conference and first-team All-American honors after both years.

Knicky ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds, with a 34" vertical leap and 9'07" broad jump at his pro day in March, building off a good showing at the Texas vs. the Nation all-star game, where Knicky showed he had the ability to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense at the NFL level.

Knicky signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in April. The Packers released Knicky after they completed their off-season workouts in June.
