NFP: Chargers Passed NFL Drug Audits

The San Diego Chargers have passed all NFL internal drug audits.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports the San Diego Chargers have passed all NFL internal drug audits.

Meanwhile, RSF Pharmaceuticals, which filled prescriptions for Chargers doctor David Chao, has surrendered it's license, and is "no longer authorized to obtain, distribute, possess, or manufacture controlled substances".

RSF also has business relationships with several other NFL teams, and the Drug Enforcement Agency seized binders and discs with labels "Sport Pharm Database" and "Sport Pharm Reports" on them.

"Probably half the teams or more don’t use them," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in a statement to the San Diego Union-Tribune on Friday. "There’s no relationship our office has with the company."

The DEA's decision to investigate stems from the arrest of then-Chargers safety Kevin Ellison, who is now on the Seattle Seahawks roster, as well as the allegations made by a former security director for the New Orleans Saints against members of the team's coaching staff.

Wilson adds that RSF has hired the same attorneys hired for the BALCO case.
