The Green Bay Packers announced that they have claimed defensive lineman Howard Green off waivers.

Green was waived by the New York Jets on Tuesday.

A sixth-round pick (190th overall) out of LSU in 2002 by the Houston Texans, Green (6-2, 365) has appeared in 51 games during his career, which has included stints with the Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks.

Green was re-signed by the Jets after Week 1, appearing in two games and making one tackle with a forced fumble.

Linebacker Brad Jones was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
