Rams WR Mark Clayton May Be Lost For Season
By admin
Former St. Louis Rams personnel executive and current 101 ESPN NFL analyst Tony Softli reports that Rams wide receiever Mark Clayton may be done for the season with a torn patellar tendon.
Clayton was injured during the first quarter of the Rams' 44-6 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Acquired from the Baltimore Ravens in early September, Clayton entered this week's game as the Rams leading receiver with 22 receptions for 300 yards, which placed him in the Top 5 in the NFC. Danny Amendola's 12 receptions for 95 yards on Sunday vaulted him over Clayton, who had one catch for six yards before his injury, into the team lead.
If their worst fears are realized, the Rams will be in the market for an outside receiver. Possibilities include Jordan Kent, who caught 4 passes for 46 yards for the Rams during the pre-season, and Devin Thomas, a 2008 second-round pick who was waived by the Washington Redskins on Saturday.
