Seahawks Officially Add Balmer; Sign K Clint Stitser

Defensive lineman Kentwan Balmer passed his physical with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, officially completing the trade with the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle traded an undisclosed draft choice, believed to be in the sixth-round, to the 49ers for the 2008 first-round pick on Monday. Running back Adrian Peterson was released to clear a spot on the 80-man roster to Balmer.

With linebacker Lofa Tatupu returning to practice on Monday, and kicker Olindo Mare nursing a sore calf muscle, the Seahawks signed free agent kicker Clint Stitser and released linebacker Alvin Bowen, who led the Seahawks with six tackles in the pre-season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night.

Stitser went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2009, and spent part of the 2010 off-season with the New York Jets. After missing all three of his field goal attempts during a May 27 OTA session the Jets cut him.
