Seahawks Release DT Craig Terrill

The Seattle Seahawks have released veteran defensive tackle Craig Terrill, reports Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

"Thanks to the Seahawks for 6 great years.", Terrill wrote on Twitter.

A sixth-round pick (189th overall) in 2004 out of Purdue, the 6-2, 295-pound Terrill appeared in 76 games over the last six seasons, totaling 93 tackles and 8 quarterback sacks. Terrill also blocked five field goals over the last six seasons, second-most in Seahawks' history.

Terrill had been backing up Brandon Mebane at the "3" technique on the Seahawks' defensive line, and was scheduled to make $1.15 million in base salary in 2010, the final year of his current contract.

Dave Mahler of 950-KJR reports the Seahawks will re-sign safety Jordan Babineaux, who they released on Sunday.
