Steelers LB James Harrison Calls For Seymour Suspension

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, whose multiple fines this season has helped the NFL qualify for a bulk shipping rate from FedEx, thinks Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour should be suspended for his punch of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday.

"I don't see why not," Harrison said of a suspension for Seymour. "They're trying to suspend guys for hits when that's within the whistles, some hits that guys can't even stop from doing. It's an adjustment that a receiver makes to what you are about to do to him, and you end up hitting helmet to helmet. You're talking about suspending a guy for that?

"You tell me what the next step is for a guy who blatantly, outside the play, it's already thrown, and a guy is going to celebrate with his teammates and you punch him in the face."

Of course, Roethlisberger appeared to have said something to illicit such a vicious response from Seymour.

Roethlisberger said that "Let's get ready for the extra point" was all he said to Seymour before being punched.

"You have to watch it on the (TV broadcast). I'm not sure why he (Roethlisberger) ran up on me," said Seymour.
