Steelers Sign K Shaun Suisham

The Pittsburgh Steelers will sign kicker Shaun Suisham, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports.

Jeff Reed, who was franchised in the off-season, has been informed that he'll be released despite his fully guaranteed $2.814 million base salary. Reed has struggled this season, converting just 15 of his 22 field goal attempts.

In 57 games over five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2005-06, 2009) and Washington Redskins (2006-09), Suisham is 87-for-110 (79.1%) on field goal attempts, and 101-for-103 on extra point attempts with 24 career touchbacks.

Suisham also had brief stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and St. Louis Rams, and a previous stint with Steelers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green in 2005.

Suisham also tried out for the San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions this season, but was not signed to a contract.
