Glad to see Wahle calling PFF out as well as spearing our defensive approach and personnel use.

“The softest defense I’ve seen” and it’s not the players. Yes.

“It doesn’t look like this team has practiced”.

The approach of taking advantages of mismatches as an identity is almost the definition of a finesse offense.

Fitness OL, Finesse DL group … yes. DT sitting on the PS unused.

Why not just come out and tie these up with the express conclusion. You repeatedly emphasize that team is wholly and indefensibly badly coached from basic assumptions through deeply flawed schemes and concepts and personnel usage.

A total demolition from basics up but dodges actually drawing the ultimate conclusion, barely admittedly.

By identity you both seem to describe a lack of an identifiable vision from basics through to final details. I wonder if this is a direct result of not having a coach responsible directly to the GM. We seem to have A GM tasked with giving his coaches what they want. Given your comments about the apparent incoherence of the vision in practice , perhaps it’s time to go back to the old way and get everyone on the same page and accountably so.

I like Wahle saying if you're not correcting repeated mistakes you're basically coaching them.

The Walker article has me confused. People really think he's having a great season when he constantly tries to go around blockers instead of through them. I have a hard time believing Barry really has the LBs playing that soft after letting the DL do more penetrating but I have no problem believing he's not doing anything to correct it.

You have to wonder how Gutey feels about all this. Drafting all those defenders to watch a mess like Thursday night. Like you said if the hierarchy was different I'm sure he'd be mentioning his concerns to LaFleur.

I thought the identity was 'Young Lions', oops, sorry, that's the team that ate us up.

Thanks Andy and Mike for this honest discussion. My questions and wishes for the defense:

1) Redundant to what Andy has posted previously, "Why do you have only 2 dlinemen on a goal line stance or a 3rd/4th and short?" This has happened too many times.
2) No 2 down dline play within 30 yds of the goal line, PERIOD!! NO 2-4-5 ALIGNMENT!!
LET'S AT LEAST play a 3-3-5 if playing nickel WITH our best run stoppers per position, barring Alexander.
This means Clark, Slaton, J. Ford, Gary, Smith upfront.
Alexander, Douglas, Savage, R. Ford, Walker, Gaines backfield
3) Why not call up Jonathan Ford for big run teams. What have you to lose at this point, but perhaps benching a #1 pick who only puts effort out there some of the time.
4) As stated in this podcast, we need punishing LBs that have the vision and WANT to fill holes and not those that wait for the back/or blocker to plow into us.
5) Get a D coordinator NOW that brings energy and scheme to this team. You have a Long 3 weeks whereby you can implement some new schemes
6) Coaches!! If you are not teaching these young men how to improve and expecting them to it themselves, then why are you here?
7) Gute! Get some LBs and dlinemen with attitude, and not just pads off athletic traits, PLEASE!
It's getting way too old.

My questions and wishes for the offense:

1) WHY can you not execute for a full first half to 3/4s of a game? There is a lack of player focus, toughness, and coaching that is astounding right now.
2) Sean Rhyan deserves a chance to play if Jenkins can't go. Let's see what he's got. If Jenkins cannot be on the field for the game after Monday night, then let Tom play guard and get Nijman in at tackle.
3) Why do you scheme 3 players deep and one short when your QB has little time to throw?
4) Why do you run 1 person route trees when you need a first down and your QB is constantly under pressure?
5) Why do you run play action, when you have not run the ball, and expect linebackers to bite and come way up on a play?.... Instead a tip-ball interception takes place.
6) AJ, next time you need a td from 2 yards out and you see a LB filling a hole. RUN HIM OVER, instead of cutting 3 holes to you right for no gain. You were not drafted to be a scat-back!
7) Patrick Taylor deserves to be signed if you are not going to play Wilson. He also deserves a chance to be your goal line back.
8) Is there anybody teaching our guys how to drive block?....including our TE's/HB? Do we intensely practice it? Does our oline have the demeanor to do so? They do have feet with legs attached, correct?

What? We have an identity - we're young, soft, poorly coached, and are incapable of making urgent decisions to improve our team sooner than later. It's not good, but it's what we are now.

Yes, as in every year, our expectations have been set too high by the Packer media. Nothing new there. But you would think that the organization would still insist on doing its best - as they expect of their players. I leave the coaching staff out of that statement as their efforts would indicate that won-loss success is not part of their mandate or concerns. Nor do they seem to mind being humiliated on national game broadcast. It should be far easier to replace a couple of bad coaches than trading most of its players, don't u think?

It's not always fun being a GB fan these days with this terrible coaching staff. But the young players are at least exciting. Regardless, GPG

I do agree that The Packers are lacking an Identity on Offense and Defense. Offensively, They can't run the Ball and are exposing their New Quarterback to impossible Situations for Success. Detroit knew they didn't have to worry about a run game, though I know they're strong in run defense, you don't just run it 10 times and go, oh well we tried. If the Packers Offensive Linemen can't run block, what are they doing in the NFL? Why aren't the Coaches working to make them become good? No matter how good your O-Line is for protecting the Pass, when that's all the Offense a Defense has to worry about, you're going to get beat. There were about 25 different Holding Calls that the Refs naturally missed between the Detroit O-line holding and their D-Backs holding the Receivers. That the D-Line still keeps getting gashed along with the Linebackers and the Secondary still Arm Tackling, they have a serious Problem of Discipline. All the great Defenses are Disciplined, not rag tag. Lefluer threw Joe Barry under the Bus and I agree but he should also look in the Mirror about doing the same things and expecting better results. Running the Ball 10 times in a Game wins almost NEVER!!! Lefluer better figure out what he wants his Team's Identity to be before its too late!!! All the Teams now know if they stop the Packers 10 times on Runs, they can just Pass Rush Jordan Love to Death. Get it together Lefluer!!! You are the Head Coach, you make the Decisions, so do your Job. If you think Barry's Scheme doesn't work, then overrule him, again you're the Head Coach!!!

Their identity? They are a team still waiting to see if David Bahktiari is going to play next week. That speaks volumes.
This coaching staff is not even worth discussing. Even Bisaccia has had some head scratchers this year. It’s the 5th year of the MLF , and I hope there won’t be a 6th… but that’s not the packer way. Favre, Rodgers, Holmgren, Wolf and even McCarthy are gone..I’m afraid it’s back to the days of Tom Braatz and Lindy Infante , barring a miracle.
