GOOD = McManus, like really, really good.

BAD = Bisaccia's STs coverage units getting exposed ... again.

UGLY = MLF calling 2 timeouts in the final minute that, on offense, revealed he had no idea if his FG kicker could make a kick from 55 yards, and, on defense, resulted in one of the worst defensive play calls since MLF's first Defensive Coordinator allowed Tom Brady to hit Scotty Miller for a TD on the final play of the first half of the 2020 NFC Championship game.

Something seems really off with MLF this season, after so much promise last season. Too bad.

MLF apparently has PTSD from all the place kickers who came before McManus and now eschews FGs in favor of plays in which the OL collapses. He has some creativity but you wouldn’t know it in crunch time. His in-game adjustments and decisions are head-scratching, to say the least. My faith he will get better is waning.

A head coach really has two responsibilities on the sideline: when to call a timeout and when to Challenge a call successfully.

Although I find it commendable that MLF takes the blame for the weekly errors in play calling and time management, it seems like he's reached his ceiling. In the businesses I have worked
for, six years of bad decisions would be rewarded with a pink slip and an escorted trip out the front door.

I'm with you, Jim, but my faith isn't waning, its gone!
Where is that scoring offense we saw at the end of last season?
Where is the short to mid range passing game that suggested the Packers have "really good group of young receivers" and made Tucker Kraft a up-n-coming star? It now seems to be a one trick pony that varies from week-to-week. Worse yet is that Love's arm is beginning to resemble Erik "rubber legs" Torkelson's legs, but Torkelson had success!
Where is that "illusion of complexity" that opposing defenses have figured out but MLF can't seem to find?
Where the hell is Management? Where are our recent 1st round draft picks? WTF?
Hopefully, Murphy's replacement arrives with a truckload of house-cleaning products and is not afraid to use them when he takes over.
By watching last night what Detroit has done with draft picks in 3 years one might think Gutey should be on today's Black-Monday list.

The Shit For Brains Packers fooled us into thinking that they were a team that had a shot at the SB. They won only one game in their division and we all know they're one and done in the playoffs. The Bears can now say they own the Shit For Brains Packers. All season they committed penalties, dropped passes (and let's not even talk about the $255 million dollar man who's backup is better than him), a defense that can't cover the field and leaves the middle of the field wide open, coaches that should stay in college and MLF who is always confused. The Packers were not elite this year, not even close.

Jeez for a second there thought you had blinders on, plenty to dislike

The Good: McManus not sure team would be in playoffs without him, Cooper plays hard all the time makes mistakes but he is going to be great.

The Bad: Play calling is horrific, I see that end around with Reed again that hasn't worked in 24/25 will be too soon. side screen don't work. Also the fact he didn't trust Willis to throw a pass late in the game really?

Ugly: Ball security, punt coverage team was terrible. Defense couldn't stop Bears at the end stupid penalty no question to extend drive.

Eagles are next not sure defense is ready to step up to this challenge, Smith and Brown great receivers and run defense will be up against it as well.

Wanna know who is the second youngest team? The Rams (playoffs).

Wanna know who is the third youngest team? The Broncos (playoffs).

Wanna know who is the fourth youngest team? The Bucs (playoffs).

Wanna know who is the fifth youngest team? The Chargers (playoffs).

Green Bay's playoff opponent, the Eagles, are the sixth youngest team.

It is time to quit talking about a pretty meaningless point of trivia. This is not a pee wee flag football team playing in the pros. They are pros as well.

The Good - Losing to the Bears in a meaningless game - rather than a meaningful one. The winning streak was bound to end - so better this way .

The Bad - Coaching (once again). This time all 3 parts.

Ugly - Bisaccia yelling - at someone for the Bears kick-off return. Probably better if it was self-directed.

So the Packers season comes to a sputtering end. However, all things considered, now expecting an up-bounce playoff game. Because they are due for a counter-intuitive win.

Bad - When players play bad.
You coach bad.( But you got to Love
MLF throwing the red flag on the refs.)
Ugly - injures .

You'll forget the stupidity of everyone else.

Stockholder,
Gotta disagree on only one thing, McMannus! Don't just give him a bonus, sign him to an extension, NOW!
BUT, as Gutey seems to love to do, DO NOT make him the "Highest Paid" anything based upon a half-season performance! For more info on that subject see "Jordan Love".

Good choices for all three. I agree that Heath is underutilized and although it's a limited sample size, he's our most sure-handed receiver.

I'd also add the running backs and the run blocking by the O-line to the good.

Best to put this game in the rear view mirror and concentrate on the task ahead. It looks like Watson may be lost, so I'm expecting a lot of ground and pound.

Bad: Coaching should never cost us wins, but it did in all 3 phases of the game. Time to hire a new head coach. MLF and company making decisions that dumbfound the serious fans.
Ugly: Losing to the 4-12 da Bears (yes that team with the long losing streak) and being 1-5 in our division.

The Good: unlike two years ago, even with a season ending loss.. they’re playoff bound
The Bad: i think they were better last year. The coach doesn’t seem to have confidence in what he’s doing, and the players don’t seem to respond to his coaching.
The Ugly: despite Hafley, Cooper and McKinney , this defense still can’t be counted on in a big spot.
As an aside: Jordan Love leaves a lot to be desired. Accuracy and decision making are certainly not what I would expect from a franchise quarterback. He missed some layups the past two games.

I've preached on this board that I dont get the Love choice but I dont get most of Gutts choices either.
Love played div ia, lesser talent and poorer coaching then div 1. Love tossed 17 picks his senior year, his worst year but he was an interception machine from a div 1a school and we used a one pick on him. He is not Farve or Rodgers by any stretch and the Packers fan will suffer for it in coming years.

I’m embarrassed for Hafley—a spineless and pathetic effort when it mattered the most. What the hell was he afraid of? I believe most of us were screaming for a blitz—all pressure. …and we rush three …and zero dbacks were visible on my 86 inch tv screen.
I can’t tell you how disgusted I am with this type of weak kneed, milk toast defensive approach.
This is/was exactly what we endured with Barry…

Look at what the Lions depleted defense did to MN last night. They applied pressure all game, played lots of man, and were very aggressive. The Lions said "we are going to press all game, try to beat us..." and it worked. Where was that type of play calling for the Packers against the Vikings? I thought we had gotten rid of Barry? Hafley is not living up to his promises. Remember his press conference when he came here? He said he was going to be aggressive.......Lies.

Actually, the big knock on Barry was that he didn't stuff the run, and we're stuffing the run this year. We're among the best run stuffers in the league.

When you blitz, you sacrifice coverage to get pressure. The Tuesday Morning QB argued for years, convincingly, that a blitz was more likely to result in a big play for the offense than it was for the defense.

Amigo, it's about points. No defense is going to stop a good offense, but if you can slow it down a little you've given your team a chance. If a team gets to 35 on you, that's probably a loss. Same with 30. At 25, you might have a chance. At 20, you've probably won.

We're 10-0 when we hold the opponent to 22 or less. All of our losses, including yesterday, saw the opponent get to 24. Our win over Jacksonville. where we won 30-27, was our only win when our opponent hit 24.

Last year, we were 8-2 when we held opponents to 22 or less, and 2-7 when they went over that. So.....I'm not really seeing a big difference, despite the influx of talent. We are giving up fewer points.

My perspective is that we should focus on an offense that regularly gets more than 22 on the board, because that will win most of our games. We can't go into Philadelphia expecting 21 points to get the job done. We need to shoot for 31 and hope that's enough. It might be. The Eagles have been held under thirty points 11 times already this season, so a good job here could put us in business.

The Eagles average over 8 yards/ pass attempt, if you don't deduct for sacks, and Hurts does get sacked a couple of times a game. They only average 5 yards/attempt on the ground, so .....8 is more than 5. The big problem is that Hurts and Barkley both score a lot of TDs on the ground, whereas most teams score most of their points in the air.

The Eagles are a stingy defense, and only 3 teams scored over 23 on them this year, and one of them was us in the opener. If we go out there and get held to 23, I think we lose that game.

This game was ugly and the Minnesota game wasn't much better. And it looks likely that the Packers will be one and done in the playoffs this year. Time to fire everyone with lots of vitriol on top?

I think some perspective might be in order. In 2022 the Packers finished 8-9 and out of the playoffs with: the 21st oldest roster in the league; an aging QB nearing the end of his career; and over the cap and needing to cut high dollar players. If someone had told me back then that the Packers in 2024 would be 11-6 and make the playoffs with: the youngest roster in the NFL; a young QB with potential; and $62 million in cap space to sign their own players and/or acquire other talent - I would have been ecstatic! What a turnaround!

It is all about expectations. I think the last half of last season and the Dallas playoff game got our expectations ahead of schedule for this team. The team is still very young, still makes too many mistakes and is not a Super bowl contender yet. And yes there are questions about several players and some of the coaching. But I am still delighted with the quick turnaround from a bad 2022 team. Other organizations have wandered in the wilderness for decades before getting back to the playoffs. The Packers did it in 2 years with a promising future. I can live with the 2024 season and look forward to 2025!

I appreciate your rosy post and it is a breath of fresh air. Yes other organizations can wallow in mediocracy for years after a big change of roster. The Packers organization is one of the best in the league.

That being said no team is above criticism and having rose colored glasses can come back to bite you in the ass.

First off, stop with the "youngest team". Noone wants to hear it anymore. Most of our young players are going on year 3.

Second we have to play our division 6 games every year. MN and Detroit has done a better job than us in FA and drafting in the last 3 years. That means our division dominance is over. Being a SB contender is going to be very difficult when you cant win your division.

This so called young team may be set up to have a winning record for years to come. If just having a good regular season is the measuring stick for the Green Bay Packers, and not winning SB's; then the organization has changed and Packer fans need to reset all expectations going forward.

Agree with many of your points Rebel, but not about the youngest team. Young is young and while a number of players have 2 years of experience, that is not a bunch of time in the league. Think about Rodgers or Adams upon completing year two as starters in the league. Rodgers was still learning defenses and many wanted to cut Adams because of all his drops.

I think next year will be the crossroads year for this team and organization. How good can they be?

I agree with some, and would share your optimism if not for 3 things:

if we had a couple good receivers. all of them are easy to bring down. none are a threat to break tackles and go the distance. our QB has serious accuracy issues. lafleur is clueless when it comes to managing timeouts. calling that time out yesterday before the field goal handed the game to the bears.

none of these 3 things is going to change is we stand pat

* Bad: The injuries. Love's injury doesn't seem to be serious (knock on wood) but Willis is a capable backup. Watson's is a problem. Whenever a player goes down without contact, it's not good.

* The Ugly: Special teams. The first quarter was a horror show. That punt return was an A+ clusterfuck.

I think Whelan should be in the good column. He picks up a snap that went over his head and gets off a 35 yard punt. I hope Orzech is gone next season.

Good: Ben Sirmans, running backs coach. This guy is due for a raise, what with making a star (Jacobs) and 2 undrafted guys off the street look so good this game and ALL YEAR.

Bad: Rich Bisaccia. Today’s ST performance should be the final straw. I can’t be the only one who remembers the bears ran that same fake punt return against us in 2011. Inexcusable. Fool me once, shame on you…

Tom Clements - time to move on from the past. J Love is regressing, not improving.

Ugly: MLF. He’s become the next Mike McCarthy - he’ll eke out 10-12 wins each year in ugly fashion, then lose in the playoffs.

I have been a Gute defender since he came to the Packers. Now after this season I have to wonder. Some of the criticism by people on this site of Gute is resonating in my head and I am concerned for the future of this team. I am thinking about:

Van Ness - 2nd year and very little progress. In fact his field time diminished the closer we got to the end of the year. Im so sick of hearing "well this guy is a project", im done with drafting "projects". So what, he plays up to his potential on his last contract year and we have to pay him a boat load of money? Screw that. That system is costing us money (see Gary).

Gary - another "project" player. We gave this guy a boat load of money because of 1/2 a good season. Gute was like "see I told you he would be good someday". Wrong, the guy is extremely over paid. At the beginning of the year we thought we had that one guy every defense needs: a good pass rusher. Nope.

Christian Watson - I dont want to hear anymore about how good our WR's are. Doubs is good but a head case. Reed has disappeared (what the hell happened)? Wicks cant catch. Watching the draft 2 years ago the knock on Watson by many pundits was whether his body style could hold up to NFL physicality. Gute went ahead and moved up to get this guy. Bad decision and its costing us.

Overall if you look at Detroit and MN's drafting over the last 3 years, they have far outpaced us. Minnesota has rebuilt their ol and defensive backfield in just 2 years. Detroit has talent over flowing in young players.

I hate to say it but even if the Packers do a better job of drafting and of coaching the next few years, MN and Detroit are set up to be better than the Pack for years to come.

I agree with most of what everyone is saying. Hafley, WTF!!!!, I thought this guy has his S##T together. Really, that had to be one of the dumbest calls on 3rd and 15. Just give them the entire middle of the field. If your going to call that alignment have the db play the receiver to the outside if he gets called for holding so what, it 5 yards and runs 5-8 seconds off the clock. It leaves the Bears time to run one play and not enough time for a FG attempt, DUH!!!

The Good: O-Line---they kept a fairly clean pocket and opened holes for Jacobs, Wilson, and Brooks.
The Bad: Defense. Especially 2nd half D, and most especially final drive defense. Bear offense went uphill while we went downhill.
The Ugly: Special Teams with the exceptions of McManus and Whelan. Maybe we should re-hire Ron Zook.
Kidding.
Or am I?

Probably would be more but for Hurts’ concussion status.

FYI, the Bears did have one timeout left, so even if LaFleur doesn't call his before the McManus kick, they would have called theirs, preserving the time. So I don't think that was as a big a deal as is being made. Of course, the Bears did use their TO on the final drive, so who knows how that would have panned out otherwise.

yes, after a few more seconds ran off the clock, the bears would have used theirs. lafleur should have known that. without that time out the bears lose

When I saw those guys standing way back of the field goal graphic line, I couldn't believe it!!! It's been the history of our DC's to start out good and turn into idiots after the first or second year. I guess Hafley can't even make it through his first season. Bring back Joe Barry?

We need IMO.

In free agency
Pass rusher (game changing)
CB
WR

In the draft
Pass Rusher
CB
WR

Also need a new GM, HC, STC and DC. Time to take out the trash. We should not accept mediocrity.

Good - McManus, Kraft, Musgrave. If they want the middle of the field, and they should, Kraft and Musgrave can give them that. The playoffs are the best part of the season, even better than the Superbowl. It's real football without the all the B.S.

Bad - They still pull off the run to fast. I honestly though they could've run the ball for a complete drive. They pulled Jacobs out, that's fine, but Wilson was running well too. If they would've got in a third and long, then let Willis throw, or take off if the opportunity is there. That's one thing he does well. He's faster and more sure footed than Love and generally knows when to take off.

Ugly - Just too much to list.
