Bengals CB Adam Jones Out For Season

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with a neck injury, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports.

La Canfora adds that Jones has a disc injury in his neck.

The talented, but trouble former first-round pick out of West Virginia was having a solid season, totaling 14 tackles and an interception in 5 games for the Bengals, who signed Jones to a two-year deal in May.

Jones made his first NFL start since the 2008 season, forcing and recovering a fumble, which he returned 59 yards for a touchdown that, after a two-point conversion, gave the Bengals a 25-24 fourth-quarter lead over the Atlanta Falcons after trailing 24-3 at halftime.

Jones suffered what was believed to be a stinger while covering Falcons wide receiver Roddy White on a two-point conversion, ending his day and season.

The Bengals lost 39-32.

A skilled return specialist, Jones has also averaged 19.1 yards on 7 kick returns, and 6.6 yards on 5 punt returns this season.
