Seahawks Place DL Junior Siavii on IR

The Seattle Seahawks announced that defensive lineman Junior Siavii has been placed on injured reserve.

Siavii, 32, suffered a stinger during last Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons and was not expected to practice or play this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Signed to a one-year deal in September, the 6,4 320-pound veteran started six of 14 games, totaling 30 tackles and a pair of passes defensed. Siavii played nose tackle while Colin Cole was out with an ankle injury, and started the Falcons game at the team's "5" technique defensive end position.

The Seahawks have not made a move to fill Siavii's roster spot.
