Titans, Cardinals Discuss Joint Practices

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals have discussed holding joint practice sessions after their August 23rd preseason game in Nashville.

"I have talked to (Cardinals Head) Coach (Ken) Whisenhunt," Fisher said Friday, "and it appears that they are planning on staying and having their practice week here in Nashville. We are looking at the possibility of practicing once or twice following the ball game. It could become a realistic possibility."

Several NFL teams have already scheduled group practice sessions for this summer. The New England Patriots will hold joint practices with both the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons have a joint practice scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as well.

"If it happens, it is a good change-up," Fisher said. "Any time you get a chance to work against another club it is a great change-up for the players. This is unique from the standpoint that usually when these combined practices take place they are leading up to a game, but in this case it would follow a game against them."

In 2008, the Titans held a brawl-filled joint practice with the St. Louis Rams. Depending on the intensity of the Cardinals-Titans pre-season game, some players may look to settle scores during practice the following week.
